Goodbye

should you ever feel the need
to speak with me again
i'll be (sadly) waiting
for such a valuble friend

i can't believe you're gone from me
it happened far too fast
i didn't get to say goodbye
i thought our bond would last

i know you're busy with your life
as i surely am with mine
i guess i always thought that we
would end up intertwined

i know you have moved on now
leaving me to wonder why
the only thing left to do now
is let go and mean goodbye

i'll always hold the hope with me
that you'll come back to stay
selfish, though perhaps that is
i'm all alone these days
