The use of animals in science has been the most important item in curing killer diseases. Some of these diseases already cured are diphtheria, diabetes, and sickle cell disease. Research is being done right now to fight other killer diseases like cancer and AIDS. If we didn’t use animals for testing who would we use? ... Humans? Using people who are sick and expecting them to be test subjects is bad. It is taking advantage of people who cant do very much. Also, if some of the research doesn’t lead to a cure it does help people understand the human body more. 85%-90% of all animals we use are rodents like rats and mice, so this makes me confused. All over the world people are trying to stop the bad treatment of animals, but also at that same time people are setting up rat traps and killing animals for food. If people can kill animals because they cant live with them how can they complain about the killing of animals to find cures for diseases. If you have read this paper and you havent found out what i am trying to say here thats too bad because im not going to tell you.
