The show opens with the
match in which John Cena received a torn pectoral muscle and the announcement
that Cena had been stripped of the Championship Title. At No Mercy, there will
be a match to decide who the new champion will be. Knowing what I know was
wrong with Cena, it was a little difficult to have to look at it again.

is being broadcast from Dayton, OH.

Batista enters the ring in
his suit with his title belt to talk about the Punjabi Prison Match that will be
held at No Mercy. Before Batista is
finished, The Great Khali appears on the monitor to tell Batista something and
we wait for Khali’s interpreter to tell us The Great Khali says that Batista
is going to lose to Khali at No Mercy.
And, as much as I like
Batista, enough is enough of the talk, talk and talk.

Palumbo’s style is
rough and tumble but he’s a big boy. Ace was a little out of his element with
the bigger Palumbo to contend with. And guess who shows at the end of the match?
It’s Chris Masters back from his suspension…and he gets a big push
by taking down Chuck Palumbo with the master lock.
Keep pushing the guys who screw up and not the guys who didn’t screw
up, Vince. You are teaching
America’s children it’s okay to do anything.

Conspicuously absent
were Hornswoggle and Shannon Moore who have become fixtures where Noble is on
Smackdown. There is currently no cruiserweight champion since Vicky Guerrero
made Hornswoggle give up the championship belt last week. Jimmy does a very good
job in the ring and I don’t want anyone to think I am ignoring his talent but
Jamie Noble has wrestling talent, he’s funny and he can make any match
entertaining.
Diva search finalists, the
Obstacle Course. Then a recap of the feud leading up to Umaga vs. Triple H at No
Mercy.

introduced, MVP challenges Matt to a push up contest to show everyone who is the
best. MVP cheats and Matt loses the challenge. And MVP and Matt are still
funny together.
Kane enters the arena and
we go to commercial break.
Back from commercial break,
Kenny Dykstra is in the ring with Kane and Victoria has accompanied Dykstra to
the ring.
Winner: Kane with a
pin and a three count.
I consider this a wasted
match. Both of these men are good
in the ring but they aren’t getting the right matches.
We see an Undertaker promo.

We see the film of Teddy
Long’s heart attack and then go backstage to Vicky and a diva. Enter MVP and
Matt Hardy with MVP complaining that Vicky made a match with MVP last week
against Kane and MVP thinks it would be fair this week for Vicky to make a match
with Matt Hardy against Undertaker. Vicky
likes the idea, however, she goes a little farther with it.
It will be Kane and Undertaker versus Matt Hardy and MVP.
We see the film again where
Cena is injured while in the ring with Mr. Kennedy --and Randy Orton beating up on Cena after Cena wins the
match.

This is the official
debut of Festus and Jesse in WWE Smackdown. Jesse is agile and Festus is big.
Jesse is funny and Festus is goofy. I
might even be able to get used to their “Biscuits and Gravy” theme song. Not
a bad team if they get the right matches.

Khali did to Mysterio the first time they met. They have another match tonight.

Mysterio spends a lot of
time getting into the ring because he stops to shake hands with the younger fans
in the audience. He does not throw
his shirt into the crowd, he chooses someone and puts the shirt on that person.
Mysterio was not on the Signature Pharmacy list and appears to be a good role
model for the younger wrestling crowd. Perhaps Mysterio can counter some of the
Signature Pharmacy client promotions we are seeing throughout WWE.
We all knew that
Mysterio wasn’t going to pin Khali. We
also knew that Mysterio was going to be on the bad end of things but Batista
comes to the save, taking down Finlay and Khali.
It may not have meant much except a lead in to No Mercy, but it was a
good excuse for Batista to take off his shirt.
