Kingston but Kingston takes Benjamin down and pounds on him, however, Knox
catches Kingston from behind and delivers a corkscrew neck breaker. Knox has a
cut under his eye and is bleeding a little profusely for such a short match.
I’m not sure when or how that happened. Knox leaves the ring, bleeding and
smiling but the referee has to make Benjamin leave the ring while Kingston is
still down on the mat.
The announcers show the footage of how Knox got a cut by his
eye. It appeared that an elbow blow
by Kingston started it.

ECW Championship.
Commercial break.
Chavo Guerrero from El Paso, TX, weighing 215 lbs.
With Bam Neely
Vs.
CM Punk from Chicago, IL, weighing 222 lbs.
Mr. MITB
Neely wasn’t around last week on ECW.
The fans are pro Punk. We start off with a shoving match and Punk tries
for an early GTS but Guerrero gets away and bails out of the ring. Punk takes
Guerrero down with an arm drag when Guerrero is brave enough to get back in the
ring. Punk delivers a couple of kicks and then an elbow as Guerrero comes off
the ropes. Punk goes for a cover and gets the one count after delivering a snap
suplex. Guerrero comes back with fists and uses a handful of hair. Punk goes for
a back slide and gets a two count. Guerrero drops Punk on the ropes and then
goes for the cover. Guerrero gets a two count and we go to COMMERCIAL BREAK IN
THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH! Back to the ring, Punk sends Guerrero over the top rope
and down to the floor. Punk then delivers a kick that sends Guerrero back down
to the floor. Neely goes around the ring to check on Guerrero. As Punk runs back
toward the ropes, Neely has gone back around the ring, pulls down the ropes and

but he goes over the top rope and takes down Punk who is getting to his feet.
Guerrero rolls Punk back into the ring and goes for the cover but only gets a
two count. Guerrero has Punk in a body scissors but Punk fights his way out.
Punk slams Guerrero to the floor and both men are down. Punk delivers a leg
lariat but and then a power slam. Punk goes for the pin and gets a two count.
Guerrero goes to work on Punk’s leg and back. Punk grabs the bottom rope and
the ref makes Guerrero release the hold. Punk delivers a kick to Guerrero’s
skull and goes for the cover, getting another two count. Guerrero goes for the
three amigos but only gets two as Punk tries for the GTS. Guerrero reverses the
move but Punk sends Guerrero to the mat. Punk misses a knee in the corner,
Guerrero goes for the roll up, using the trunks and gets the three count and the
win. Time: 9 minutes.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero with a roll up
I haven’t had too much to say lately about ECW matches but
this one was worth watching. Even when Chavo Guerrero cheats, he does it so well
you tend to forgive him. Punk has always done a great job in the ring when given
the chance. He and Guerrero managed to keep this one-hour time slot alive.
April 22, 2000, Tommy Dreamer wins the ECW Championship.
Commercial break.
Lena Yada is backstage with Colin Delaney. They are
discussing the million-dollar announcement that Vince McMahon made. They also
discuss the WWE Draft coming up. Delaney says that he doesn’t want to get
drafted but he would like to see Armando Estrada go.

The Miz from Cleveland, OH, weighing 231 lbs.
The other half of the WWE Tag Team Champions

WWE ECW Champion
Let us all hope that Morrison and Miz have bit off a little
bit more than they can chew. Morrison
begins the match and shoves Kane back into the corner. Morrison tags in Miz and
while the ref’s back is turned, Morrison works on Kane. Miz tags in Morrison
and Morrison uses the ropes to choke Kane. As Miz attempts to grab Kane from
outside the ring, Kane catches Miz by the throat but Morrison nails Kane in the
back. Morrison tags in Miz. Miz charges at Kane and meets Kane’s boot. Kane
goes to the opposite corner and takes down Morrison before delivering a major
clothesline to Miz. Kane sends Miz to the canvas and then knocks Morrison down
to the floor, climbs up and delivers a flying clothesline to Miz then waits to
nail him with the choke slam. Morrison is back in the ring and Kane catches him
by the throat, then grabs Miz. The two fight back and Kane loses his grip. The
ref rings the bell because Miz and Morrison are double teaming Kane. Punk
appears to help out Kane. Time: 2
minutes.
