Tonight is a special three-hour show

Wrestlemania Rewind

Rumor has it that several WWE Hall of Fame Members will be on Raw tonight.

Monday Night Raw is being broadcast from Milwaukee, WI

On the USA network

Ringside announcers: Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler

Ring announcer: Lillian Garcia

Tonight The Undertaker will face The World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry in a casket match.

The Big Show and Floyd “Money” Mayweather will have their official weigh-in for Wrestlemania XXIV.

The Nature Boy Ric Flair enters the arena and heads toward the ring. Flair was scheduled to face HBK Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania, but HBK doesn’t want to go through with the match. Flair has to decide whether or not he still wants to face HBK at Wrestlemania. Flair is in the ring to give the audience his decision. Flair calls HBK to the ring. The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels enters the ring to listen to Flair. Flair compliments HBK on his entrance music. Flair says that the word sympathy did not exist when he started in the business and the word pit doesn’t exist in Flair’s vocabulary now. Flair thinks that HBK feels pity for him. Flair says if he can’t face HBK in the ring then he shouldn’t be in the ring at all. Flair wants respect because he has earned it and he would expect nothing less than that from HBK. If Flair wins at Wrestlemania, he is the man. If HBK wins at Wrestlemania, then he has beat the man. Flair asks HBK to give Flair the Showstopper. HBK tells Flair that he never meant to show pity. HBK says that HBK is Mr. Wrestlemania and that he has been in the greatest Wrestlemania moments in history. HBK says that at Wrestlemania, HBK is the man. HBK says they will have their match at Wrestlemania. HBK says that he found out on Friday Night Smackdown, Flair will be involved in a 3 on 1 steel cage match against Edge and his two Edge guys. HBK tells Flair that Fridays are usually reserved for other things, but HBK will go with Flair to Friday Night Smackdown to make sure that it is 3 on both of them.

And Randy Orton appears to interrupt the Flair/HBK conversation. If I was going to call for the most heat on someone tonight, Orton would win the contest. Orton is in charge of Monday Night Raw tonight. Orton says that Triple H will face, in a Wrestlemania rematch, Kane. HBK didn’t win at last year’s Wrestlemania. HBK will face John Cena in a Wrestlemania Rewind match.

My screen went dark for a second and then a film clip of April 2, 2006, Wrestlemania XXII, with The Undertaker and The World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry in a casket match.  Of course The Undertaker won the match. That Wrestlemania XXII rewind match is next.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break.

Casket Match

The Undertaker from Death Valley, weighing 299 lbs.

Vs.

The World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry from TX, weighing 392 lbs.

Audience favorite: The Undertaker

My favorite: I like them both

We know this can’t possibly be a wrestling match simply because of the size of the two men in the ring and the fact that it is a casket match. JR informs the audience that Edge will be watching this match very closely since he will be facing The Undertaker at Wrestlemania XXIV. Taker has beaten Henry in one of these matches before. Henry doesn’t look too thrilled with the casket sitting outside the ring. Taker sends Henry down to the mat and signals for the casket lid to be opened before going back at Henry. Henry comes back but Taker is back on him and then goes old school but Henry catches him in midair and has him in a bear hug. The audience is loudly chanting for Undertaker and he does break free of the hold. Henry sends Taker to the floor, but Taker lands on his feet and Taker brings Henry out to the floor. Taker meets the guardrail back first and Henry rolls back in and out of the ring to break the referee’s count. Taker sends Henry into the ring post and Taker rolls back in and out of the ring to break the ref’s count. Henry’s head meets the top of the casket and gets rolled back into the ring. Taker is back in the ring and walks into a body slam delivered by Henry. Taker is down and Henry signals for the casket lid to be opened. As Henry reaches down for Henry, Taker locks in his new submission move, Henry taps out but tap outs and bleeds, but count outs and blood loss don’t count. Taker kicks Henry into the casket and slams the lid shut.

Winner

The Undertaker

Promo for Wrestlemania XXIV, live Sunday March 30, on pay per view. This promo has Carlito facing a killer seagull and Maria. I love the seagull.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, one of the official Wrestlemania theme songs is by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow (Hey Oh).

Floyd “Money” Mayweather is backstage with his entourage, getting ready for his weigh-in. JR introduces a promo that includes Michael Buffer, boxing ring announcer, Bert Sugar, boxing historian, and Antonio Tarver, former lightweight boxing champion. The Big Show and Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s official weigh-in is tonight.

JR reminds the audience that at Wrestlemania XXIV, Randy Orton will be defending his WWE Championship against The Game Triple H and John Cena in a Triple Threat Match. We see Triple H on camera to give his opinion of how the match is going to go at Wrestlemania. Triple H missed last years Wrestlemania due to an injury. The general consensus is that Triple H will leave Wrestlemania with the title.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, the WWE Slam of the Week – JBL beating up Hornswoggle in the hospital while Finlay, Hornswoggle’s father, is in the ring with Vince McMahon. Finlay’s going to kill JBL at Wrestlemania.

Mr. Kennedy from Green Bay, WI, weighing 243 lbs.

Vs.

Finlay from Belfast, Ireland, weighing 233 lbs.

Audience favorite: I’m not sure who got the biggest pop.

My favorite: I like them both but Finlay is great

Before the match begins, JBL shows up on the monitor. JBL says he has something to say that is more important than their match coming up. JBL says he understands Finlay has accepted his challenge for a match at Wrestlemania and Finlay wants a Belfast Brawl. JBL says that not only can he beat Finlay at his own game, but he can put Finlay in the hospital right next to Hornswoggle. I may have been wrong about Orton getting the most heat…JBL might have just beat him in the creep department.

The bell rings and Finlay has not dropped his weapon and, instead of dropping it, he goes after Kennedy with the shillelagh. The ref rings the bell and disqualifies Finlay. Finlay comes out of the ring to continue the assault on Kennedy and then he rolls Kennedy back in the ring. The ref gets out of the way and it takes three refs to try to get Kennedy out of the ring. Finlay pulls him back in but the refs manage to get in the ring and back Finlay up. Finlay goes out on the floor to continue beating on Kennedy. I see ice packs, lots of them, in Kennedy’s future.

Winner

Mr. Kennedy

via disqualification

Promo for Wrestlemania XXIV, this one with The Undertaker’s 15-0 streak at Wrestlemania.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, two weeks ago in Phoenix, AZ, the WWE was at the headquarters of The Make A Wish Foundation. At Wrestlemania XXIV, 50 wish kids from 50 states will have their wish granted. John Cena was recognized for granting, to date, 100 wishes. Kudos to John Cena for giving a very important gift to children who need him.

WWE Intercontinental Championship

Jeff Hardy from Cameron, NC, weighing 225 lbs.

Champion

Vs.

Y2J Chris Jericho weighing 226 lbs.

Challenger

Last week on Jericho’s highlight reel, Jericho tells Jeff that they are both in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and they get into an altercation, with Jeff sending Jericho down to the mat. This is not a Wrestlemania Rewind match.

Audience favorite: Jeff Hardy

My favorite: I like them both

With any luck, we will see the wrestling talent of these two competitors. The ref seems to be having a problem keeping the two from clashing when he wants them to break up the action. Lawler mentions that if it wasn’t for the altercation last week, the two would  most likely be in a classic wrestling match tonight. Jeff goes for the first pinfall but he doesn’t get the three count, Jericho tosses Jeff out to the floor and we go to

COMMERCIAL BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH!

THAT’S ONE!

Back from commercial break, both men are back in the ring and Jericho appears to have the upper hand. Jericho charges at Jeff, Jeff gets out of the way, Jericho goes up and over the top turnbuckle, misses the ring apron and lands on the floor. Jeff goes out after him, goes off the guardrail in an attempt to take Jericho out and Jericho moves, sending Jeff face first into the announcer’s table. Jericho picks Jeff up and rolls him back into the ring, goes for the cover and Jeff gets a shoulder up off the mat. Jericho works on Jeff’s back and Jeff rakes the eyes to make Jericho break the hold. Jericho goes for an old fashioned using the ropes to choke Jeff until the ref makes him break. He goes for it again and the fans that had been chanting for Jericho are now chanting for Jeff Hardy. Jeff uses the whisper in the wind and still can’t get the three count. Jericho goes for a pin, Jeff kicks out, Jeff delivers a roll up, Jericho kicks out, Jeff comes off the top rope and Jericho rolls out of the way. Jericho goes to the top turnbuckle and comes off with a cross body block, Jeff makes it a roll through and goes for the cover but can’t get the three count. Jericho comes off the ropes with a lionsault, goes for the cover but Jeff powers out. The crowd is now chanting for Y2J. Jericho goes for the walls of Jericho, Jeff rolls him up and gets a two count. Jeff hits the twist of fate, goes to the top turnbuckle and goes for the Swanton bomb, Jericho rolls out of the way and Jeff meets the mat. Jericho goes for the bone breaker, goes for the cover and gets the three count.

Winner

Y2J Chris Jericho

New WWE Intercontinental Champion

With the exception of the commercial break, in the middle of the match, not a bad match for two men who spend time in the technical ring. I was a little surprised with the ending but Jericho worked hard for his win. Both men took some hard knocks in this match.

JR reminds the audience that Triple H will face Kane in a Wrestlemania Rewind match.

The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, from Wrestlemania I, are on their way to the ring

Promo for Friday Night Smackdown.

Back from commercial break, WWE Rewind – March 31, 1985, Tag team championship match – the winners were Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik with Bobby Heenan.

Nikolai Volkoff sings the Russian National Anthem to as many jeers as he got when he first began singing it. The Iron Sheik knocks the USA.

Wrestlemania I Rewind

The Iron Sheik

And coming down the ramp are

Jillian Hall appears to do who knows what…she mentions the song Born in the USA that the US Express used. She then calls the US Express has beens and then tells everyone she is going to sing the song for them. Rotundo delivers an airplane spin shutting Hall up, at least for a little while.

These four men still look good even if they didn’t get to fight each other in the ring.

Mike Adamle gives the audience a recap of the WWE 2008 Class for the WWE Hall of Fame

Nature Boy Ric Flair

Peter Maivia

JR reminds the audience that the official weigh-in for The Big Show and Floyd “Money” Mayweather will be tonight. Video clip of The Big Show.

From Wrestlemania XXV, The Game Triple H versus Kane, March 20, 1999, in Philadelphia, PA. The Game won the match.

Kane is backstage watching the clip on a monitor. Orton appears and tells Kane that he knows how much Kane hates Triple H. Kane grabs Orton by the throat and tells Orton that he doesn’t need a history lesson when it comes to Triple H, Kane remembers everything Triple H has done to him.

My screen went black again. When it came back on, JR was reminding the audience that Triple H versus Kane, another Wrestlemania Rewind match will be next.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break. promo for Wrestlemania XXIV, John Legend will be performing America The Beautiful.

Wrestlemania XXV Rewind Match

The Game Triple H from Greenwich, CT, weighing 255 lbs.

Vs.

The Big Red Machine Kane, weighing 320 lbs.

Audience favorite: Triple H

My favorite: I like them both

The match starts out as a slugfest with Triple H pounding on Kane but Kane doesn’t appear to be affected. He turns it around and beats on Triple H. Triple H slows Kane down with an elbow to the jaw, but Kane comes right back and sends Triple H over the top turnbuckle and down to the floor. Kane goes out after him and slams his head into the announcer’s table. Kane tries to send Triple H into the ring post, but Triple H gets the switch and Kane meets the post. Both men are back in the ring and Kane is down. Triple H goes out of the ring to beat on Kane’s head and neck. The ref makes Triple H get back in the ring and he continues his assault on Kane. Kane sends Triple H into the ropes and greets him with a boot to the face as he comes off the ropes. Kane has Triple H down and Kane goes for the cover, but Triple H gets his shoulder off the mat. Triple H hits the spine buster and both men are down on the mat. The ref counts to five before they are back on their feet. Triple H delivers a face buster, and goes for the pedigree but Kane picks him up and sends him over his back to the floor. Orton appears at the top of the entrance ramp and Kane is going for the choke slam. Triple H counters the choke slam and tries to set him up for the pedigree but is distracted when he sees Orton in the arena. Kane delivers a side slam, goes up to the top turnbuckle and comes off to meet a boot to the abdomen, Triple H hits the pedigree and gets the win.

Winner

The Game Triple H

Much to the dismay of Orton, I might add. We have a stare down after the match is over.

Promo for ECW tomorrow night – Colin Delany and Tommy Dreamer will face John Morrison and The Miz for the WWE tag team titles in an extreme rules match.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, promo for Wrestlemania XXIV.

JR reminds the audience that the WWE Championship is on the line in a Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania XXIV.. John Cena gives his thoughts on the Triple Threat Match. John Cena is ready to win the title.

Melina from Los Angeles, CA

Accompanied to the ring by the Glamazon Beth Pheonix

Vs.

Maria from Chicago, IL

Accompanied to the ring by Candice Michelle

In Wrestelmania XXIII, Melina and Ashley faced each other one on one. Melina won the match. Melina says she was really looking forward to beating Ashley again tonight, but Ashley is injured and can’t be at the arena. Instead of a Wrestlemania Rematch, it will be a Wrestlemania Pre Match.

Santino Marella shows up during the match with a Playboy magazine in his hands – yes, wrestling fans, this isn’t a match, it’s a commercial for Hugh Hefner.

Winner

Melina

After the match, Marella enters the ring and The Glamazon sends Candice down to the mat before exiting the ring.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather promo for the match with The Big Show at Wrestlemania XXIV, with Shane McMahon and Mayweather. The weigh-in will be next.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break.

Shane McMahon enters the ring to preside over the weigh-in. Shane introduces the weigh-in for the match between Big Show and Floyd “Money” Mayweather. The largest athlete in the world, The Big Show enters the ring first.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Big Show’s opponent, enters the ring next, along with his entourage (I can’t count how many members there are in the entourage). Most of his entourage are larger than Mayweather is.

Shane says that this is only a weigh-in.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather weighs in at 159.0 lbs.

The Big Show weighs in at 441.4 lbs.

Only a minor weight difference and Shane says they need to have a photo opportunity, but The Big Show wants to bring out his posse which consists of Big Daddy V, Carlito, Hardcore Holly and it appears to be the entire Raw locker room, but JR says it is the locker rooms of Raw, ECW and Smackdown. Big Show said he told Mayweather last week that no one in the locker room likes Mayweather and they all wanted to come out and see the 20 million dollar man. Big Show tells Mayweather if he threw some of that money out into the crowd maybe they wouldn’t hate him so much. Show wants to know if the risk really worth it. Show calls Mayweather a runt and slams the mic at him. Mayweather, to the chants of “you suck” from the crowd, gets up and plays the crowd with a handful of cash. Mayweather tells Show that he is the 20 million dollar man and that it’s “Money” Mayweather. Mayweather says he respects what Show has done in the WWE but he doesn’t respect Show as a human being that it’s possible Show can hurt him, but he’d have to be able to catch him first. Mayweather throws money at Show. Show hands it off to the wrestlers surrounding the ring. Mayweather says he will break Show’s jaw at Wrestlemania XXIV. As Mayweather heads out of the ring, Show picks him up and throws him onto some of the wrestlers surrounding the ring. We have a fight outside on the floor between Mayweather’s posse and some of the wrestlers with Shane in the middle. Mayweather is holding is right arm. Shane gets taken down but I didn’t see who did it.

Umaga punches back and Batista hits the floor. Umaga misses with the Samoan spike and Batista delivers a spine buster before Regal gets Umaga out of the ring.
