Last week on iMPACT –

Maple Leaf Muscle Petey Williams and Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner defeated The Guru Sonjay Dutt and Black Machismo Jay Lethal in tag team action.

Brother Ray and Brother Devon of Team 3D couldn’t make the weigh in for their tag team match so their opponents, Curry Man and Shark Boy took on Black Reign and Rellik. Shark Boy and Curry Man won the match in spite of interference from Team 3D and Johnny Devine and with a little help from Kaz.

Showtime Eric Young and Cowboy James Storm faced each other in a Ladder Match for the TNA World Drinking Championship. Miss Jacqueline climbed the ladder to retrieve the belt when it was discovered that Storm was afraid of heights. Rhino appeared to deliver a gore to Storm and left the ring with the title belt.

Robert Roode and Payton Banks went after Booker T and Traci Brooks, handcuffing them to the ring ropes.

Angelina Love faced Awesome Kong in a one on one match. Awesome Kong won the match and it is being reported that Love suffered a concussion and a broken finger. Gail Kim also suffered a concussion during a match against Awesome Kong.

NOTE: I’m not saying anything negative about Kong in her matches. I am saying that someone needs to rethink these matches are being accomplished.

Kurt Angle faced Kevin Nash. The Prince of Phenomenal AJ Styles and Tomko accompanied Angle to the ring.  The Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe and The Instant Classic Christian Cage accompanied Kevin Nash. AJ, Tomko, Joe and Christian were thrown out of the arena by the ref. Angle won the match after a low blow to Nash as the ref stepped outside the ring in an attempt to remove AJ from ringside. AJ had appeared and JB had reappeared at ringside to assist Angle’s Mrs. who got her butt knocked to the floor. Finally.

And throughout the entire two-hour show, the saga of the Angle family continued. Enough said.

Whatever.

Again.

Internet rumors indicate that after last week’s women’s match, the iMPACT television ratings indicate the television viewers turned off their sets.

I understand, TNA fans, I understand.

We can only hope that TNA’s booking department catches on.

And now on to this week’s show…

TNA

WE ARE WRESTLING!

Previously on iMPACT, Robert Roode calls out Booker T and calls Sharmell names. Showtime Eric Young comes running to the ring to assist Shark Boy and Curry Man until he find himself face to face in the ring with Black Reign and Rellik. Eric heads for the high country, which, in this case, is up the entrance ramp and out of the arena. Cowboy James Storm is attacked by The War Machine Rhino who takes the TNA World Drinking Championship belt and leaves the arena. O.D.B. and Gail Kim take on Awesome Kong after her match against Angelina Love. The Angle family saga recap.

“FIGHTING FOR THE EDGE”

Kurt Angle is backstage with Jeremy Borash, AJ and Tomko. Angle tells AJ and Tomko that all they have to do is win two out of the three matches they have tonight to get the advantage at Destination X. AJ wants to know where Angle’s Mrs. is since she didn’t come in with Angle. Angle is angry because AJ isn’t thinking about his matches. AJ is thinking about Karen. AJ says he was just wondering how she was doing because he tried to call her and Tomko and JB have to cover their faces. Angle wants to know why AJ is calling his wife. AJ says that according to Karen, she is married to both of them. Angle tells AJ to shut up and take the stupid crown off his head. AJ says Karen gave him the crown – she isn’t even in the ARENA! Can we talk about the MATCHES??? – and Angle tells AJ to forget about his wife and take the stupid crown off his head. Angle reminds AJ he has a match tonight with Kevin Nash in a street fight. Angle tells AJ to clip Nash in the legs and he will win the match. Tomko has a first blood match against Samoa Joe. Angle tells Tomko is to make Joe bleed and make him bleed hard. Angle has a match facing Christian Cage in the six sides of steel. Angle says that tonight they are going to make history.

iMPACT is broadcast from Universal Studios, Orlando, FL

Ringside announcers: Mike Tenay and Don West

Ring announcer: David Penzer

Ringside valet: SoCal Val

Backstage interviews: Jeremy Borash and Crystal Loutham

WELCOME TO THE iMPACT ZONE!

Mike Tenay reminds the audience that this Sunday it will be the Angle Alliance, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Tomko, going up against the unlikely alliance, Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash and Christian Cage.

Don West informs the audience that tonight it will be Kevin Nash versus AJ Styles in a Street Fight; Samoa Joe versus Tomko in a First Blood Match; and Kurt Angle versus Christian Cage in Six Sides of Steel.

Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan are in the ring. Cornette is talking about the Destination X pay per view this Sunday.

Elevation X Match

The War Machine Rhino vs. Cowboy James Storm

The TNA Women’s and X Division Championships will be defended.

Robert Roode takes on Booker T in a very special match that Cornette says he will talk about shortly. Tonight in the iMPACT Zone, the teams for Sunday night’s six man tag team main event will compete in three separate singles contests.

Street Fight: Kevin Nash vs. AJ Styles; First Blood: Samoa Joe vs. Tomko; and Main Event Match: Kurt Angle and Christian Cage inside the six sides of steel. All three matches must have a winner and the team who has won the most matches will go into the match Sunday night with an advantage. The team that loses the most matches tonight will go into the tag team match with a handicap.

Booker T will face Robert Roode Sunday night and the special stipulations for that match will be explained by Booker T who then enters the ring. As Booker makes his way to the ring, Tenay introduces a video of the attack on Booker and Traci Brooks last week. Roode and Booker will be joined left hand to left hand with a 10-foot leather strap. Traci Brooks will be in Booker T’s corner, Payton Banks will be in Roode’s corner. If Roode wins, Payton will be able to give Traci 10 lashes with the leather strap bur if Booker wins, then Traci will be able to give Payton 10 lashes. Booker takes the mic but Roode appears to yell at Cornette and Booker T. The audience is loudly chanting “you suck” and Roode has a problem being heard. Roode says he does not want to put a woman like Payton Banks in harm’s way. Then Roode says it’s against his moral fiber and I got Jose Cuervo all over my computer screen! Does Roode keep his moral fiber in that yellow streak up his back?  Roode says it is between the two of them and Roode tells Booker to stop hiding behind his skanks and for once in his life to be a man and fight his own battles. Booker says they don’t have to wait and he goes up the entrance ramp with Roode there to meet him. Security and Matt break the two up but they go right back at it. You’ll notice TNA Security is less hesitant to get involved when Matt Morgan is helping them out.

Crystal is backstage with Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash and Christian Cage. She asks them about the matches they have tonight. Joe says that the Angle Alliance is in their sites and tonight the three of them get an advantage. Joe tells Tomko he will bleed. Christian says that the three of them have come to an understanding and they all understand business. Christian says that tonight they will pick the Angle Alliance apart one by one and Christian will take Angle apart in their six sides of steel match. Nash asks AJ “whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when the Kevster and his seventeen time surgically repaired knees comes down on you?”

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, promo for the Elevation X match scheduled for Destination X, live this Sunday, on pay per view.

Street Fight

The Prince of Phenomenal AJ Styles from Gainesville, GA

One half of the TNA Tag Team Champions

Vs.

Big Sexy Kevin Nash from Detroit, MI

Referee: Earl Hebner

I don’t care how bad Nash’s knees may be, he has a tremendous amount of height and weight advantage over AJ which may come in handy in a street fight. Nash has on a shirt that says “The Big Sexy Tour 2008”. Nash takes his time getting to the ring, stopping to greet fans on his way.

AJ goes right after Nash but Nash fights back and sends AJ down to the match and scrambling with his back to the ropes. He dives for Nash’s leg but Nash steps out of the way and goes after AJ again. AJ lands out on the floor. Nash goes out after AJ and sends him head first into the guardrail surrounding the audience. AJ comes back with a punch that sends Nash back toward the side of the ring. AJ goes over the guardrail into the crowd area. Nash catches him with a fist to the head and then goes after him. Nash picks Angle up and sends him into the wall around the second tier of the audience and continues to pummel him and we go to

COMMERCIAL BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH!

THAT’S ONE!

Back from commercial break, both men are back in the ring with Nash down on one knee. AJ is going after Nash’s left knee as Tenay shows us what went on during the commercial break and we get ANOTHER commercial as we are told who is sponsoring the replay – give me a break! AJ comes off the top rope and delivers an elbow to Nash sending him down to the floor. Back to the ring, nope, back to the replay, AJ slams Nash’s skull into the steel steps outside the ring. Now back in the ring, Nash is back on his feet and he delivers fists to AJ’s head before AJ nails Nash in the midsection. AJ comes off the ropes and gets caught in a side slam. Nash goes for the cover and gets a two count. Nash has the upper hand and he has AJ up against the ropes. Nash attempts the jackknife power bomb but he doesn’t get AJ high enough off the ground. AJ goes for the knees, Nash delivers a choke slam, goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner

Big Sexy Kevin Nash

Nash has trouble getting back to his feet in the ring as he is favoring his left leg.

Crystal is backstage with the alter ego of Dustin Rhodes, Black Reign. Crystal complains about being around Black Reign and Misty Black Reign asks Eric Young if he is scared of monsters and Black Reign says that he likes to torture people and that Kaz dyed Black Reign’s Artic fox, Misty, and he will never forgive him for that. Black Reign tells Kaz that if he makes it to Destination X, Black Reign will eat his face off. Okay, then.

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, promo for TNA Global iMPACT Japan DVD available now.

Crystal is backstage with Black Machismo Jay Lethal and SoCal Val. Crystal  reminds Lethal about his match at Destination X against Petey Williams and the Destination X Battle Royal tonight. Crystal wants to know when Machismo’s date is going to be with SoCal Val. Lethal says that it’s business first and then at Destination X he will beat Petey Williams and then he will get with SoCal Val. Lethal walks out of the area and SoCal Val said that he said something about next week and she can’t wait.

Awesome Kong will be in action tonight and there will be a battle royal. Tenay says he has heard there is something going on in the back. Payton Banks and Traci Brooks are battling it out in the backstage area. Payton tries to run, but the door she goes for is locked and Traci uses the door to pound Payton’s head. Payton makes it out the other door and Traci is right behind her.

Tenay tells us that JB is backstage with Eric Young. Eric is hiding from the monsters JB tells Eric that he has other things to worry about, like the battle royal tonight and the match he has with Kaz as his partner against Black Reign and Rellik at Destination X. JB tells Eric to do what Kaz told him to do, to reach down deep inside and pull it out of yourself and Eric asks JB if he’s been talking to the monsters and if that is going to be their strategy – to give him wedgies.  JB tells him no, he has to reach down deep inside himself and Eric says that he understands, that he is supposed to give himself a wedgie. JB says that inside everyone there is an alter ego and that he needs to reach down and find it. I just had the most horrible vision of what Eric might look like at the pay per view.

Ray has the mic and says that will not only make their weight, they will win the battle royal. Devon goes first and he does not make the weight. Ray goes next, with comforting words from Devine, and Ray does not make the weight. Ray takes the mic and says he doesn’t want to be in the stupid match anyway and that they can’t make their weight because muscle weighs more than fat.

The bell rings and it’s a free for all.

The Guru Sonjay Dutt comes down the entrance ramp collecting donations from the audience. As the camera pans over the ring action, it pans back to Sonjay who is kissing SoCal Val’s hand.

IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A LOVE STORY ON THE SIDE

CAN IT WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE MATCH???

Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner and his freak, Rhaka Khan, appear at the top of the entrance ramp and head toward the ring.

In the ring, Hernandez stands out among all the wrestlers in the ring. Rellik is trying to get Lethal over the top rope but Lethal is hanging on. Shelley sends Homicide over the top rope but Homicide lands on the ring apron, Shelley drops to his knees, Sabin comes across the ring, onto Shelley’s back and delivers a dropkick that sends Homicide down to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Homicide by Chris Sabin

Rellik is still working on Lethal who is hanging on for all he’s worth. Shelley goes out on the ring apron to deliver a kick to Rave. Hernandez sees Shelley, delivers a blow to the side of Shelley’s head and sends him out, ribs first, into the guardrail.

ELIMINATED – Alex Shelley by Hernandez

ELIMATED – Chris Sabin by Hernandez

Hernandez goes after Lance, Lance sends Hernandez over the top rope and to the ring apron. Petey comes across the ring and delivers a kick to Hernandez, but Hernandez hangs onto the top rope with one hand. Scott Steiner appears and grabs Hernandez by the leg pulling him down to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Hernandez by Scott Steiner who wasn’t even in the match!

Hebner did not see what happened because Rhaka had him distracted. Selenas, however, did see what happened and she faces Scott outside the ring but then walks around to the side of the ring to check on Hernandez. Petey and Eric are trying to take each other out of the action. Tenay informs the audience that Rellik went out of the ring but he landed on the ring apron, his feet did not touch the floor and he is still in the match. Petey throws Eric over the top rope but Eric hangs on to the top rope, tries to pull himself back up, Petey tries to stop him, Eric has Petey in a leg scissors but outside the ring Scott comes to Petey’s aid. While Rhaka again distracts Hebner, Scott tries to pry Petey loose from Eric’s hold and pull Eric down to the floor, but Slick Johnson sees what is going on and he runs around to that side of the ring. Johnson throws Scott out of the arena as Eric again tries to pull himself up over the top rope and back into the ring. Petey comes across the ring and delivers a dropkick that sends Eric out to the floor.

ELIMINIATED – Showtime Eric Young by Maple Leaf Muscle Petey Williams

Back in the ring, Curry Man and Shark Boy are working together to take out Lance. They deliver several shots and when Lance lands with his back to the ropes, they deliver a double clothesline that sends Lance over the top rope and down to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Lance Hoyt by Curry Man & Shark Boy

Back in the ring, Rellik is working on Shark Boy and Black Reign is working on Curry Man. Petey, Rave and Lethal are still in the match meaning that several wrestler were sent over the top rope and we missed it. Rellik picks up Shark Boy, holds him over his head and then tosses him over the top rope and onto Lance Hoyt who is just getting up off the floor.

ELIMINATED – Shark Boy by Rellik

Petey is working on Lethal as Black Reign and Rellik work together to eliminate Curry Man. Lethal grabs Black Reign and sends him over to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Black Reign by Black Machismo Jay Lethal

Lethal is now facing off with Petey as Rellik continues to work on Curry Man. Petey delivers the Canadian destroyer and tosses Lethal over the top rope sending Lethal into the guardrail.

ELIMINATED – Black Machismo Jay Lethal by Maple Leaf Muscle Petey Williams

In the ring, Petey goes to work on Rave while Curry Man and Rellik are on opposite sides of the ring. Petey charges at Rave, Curry Man catches Petey and sends him over the top rope.

ELIMINATED – Maple Leaf Muscle Petey Williams by Curry Man

Rellik goes to work on Curry Man and Rave in the ring. Rellick picks Rave up but Rave breaks free, Curry Man goes after Rellik, delivering a right hand to the jaw, Rave delivers a punch and the two men use Rellik as a punching bag, but Rellik is still standing.  They send him across the ring and deliver dropkicks to send him down to the canvas. Rave and Curry Man then go after each other. Curry Man picks up Rave, has him in the spice rack and tosses him over the top rope and down to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Jimmy Rave by Curry Man

Rellik attacks Curry Man from behind as the crowd chants for Curry Man. Rellik tries to send Curry Man across the ring and over the ropes but Curry Man hangs on. Rellik sends Curry Man back across the ring and he goes down to the floor, but he lands feet first on Jimmy Rave who is still down outside the ring. Curry Man’s feet don’t touch the floor and he climbs back into the ring. Rellik thinks he has won the match and has his back turned to Curry Man. Curry Man delivers a jawbreaker, charges across the ring, delivers a lariat and sends Rellik down to the floor.

ELIMINATED – Rellik by Curry Man

Winner

After the match, Curry Man asks for a mic. Tenay wants to know if Curry Man speaks English. He doesn’t seem to and Shark Boy enters the ring to tell Curry Man that no one can understand him anyway. Shark Boy says that the stipulation in their match against Team 3D the stipulation will be that if Team 3D loses the match or fails to make the weigh in before the match, Team 3D is gone from TNA for good. Shark Boy asks for a “shell yeah!” which the audience does. Shark Boy says that if Team 3D manages to make the weigh in, it will be a Fish Market Street Fight.

First Blood Match

Tomko from Jacksonville, FL

One half of the TNA Tag Team Champions

Vs.

The Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe from American Samoa

Referee: Rudy Charles

Tomko may be a big man but Joe can be an extreme brawler. I’m not sure Tomko can do that on his own.

Before the match begins we go to

Commercial break.

Back from commercial break, the bell rings and Tomko bails out of the ring with Joe going out of the ring after him. Tomko is at the announcer’s table but Joe catches up with him and slams his head on the table then grabs the bell hammer and goes after Tomko, but Tomko catches Joe’s arm. Tomko delivers a knee to Joe’s abdomen and Tomko has the hammer. He takes a swing at Joe, but Joe ducks out of the way and slams Tomko face first into the ring apron. Joe sends Tomko face first into the steel post. The ref goes to check on Tomko but there is no bleeding and Joe goes after Tomko with a fist to the head and then a head butt. Joe slams Tomko into the steel steps. The ref again checks on Tomko, there is no blood, Joe grabs Tomko but Tomko sends a fist into Joe’s midsection. Tomko picks up Joe and body slams him onto the entrance ramp. Tomko grabs and chair and goes after Joe, but Joe rolls out of the way and the chair connects with the ramp. Joe is back to his feet and he delivers a boot to Tomko’s gut then delivers a pile driver and the ref is again checking on Tomko. The pile driver didn’t appear to be quite right and Tomko is not bleeding. Joe goes back after Tomko. Tomko staggers toward the ring and Joe rolls Tomko into the ring and then follows him in. Tomko is holding his head and the ref is again checking on Tomko as Joe goes after him. Tomko comes up with a clothesline that sends Joe down to the mat. Tomko sends Joe across the ring toward the chair but Joe gets his hands up and stops himself. Joe turns around and goes after Tomko with fists to the face and head and then a high knee before sending Tomko across the ring into the chair. Tomko goes down to the mat and covers his head as the ref tries to check. Joe has the chair in his hand as the ref signals there is no blood. Tomko gets a knee up to slow Joe down. Tomko comes off the ropes and Joe throws the chair at him. Tomko catches the chair and Joe comes up with a kick that sends the chair into Tomoko’s head. Tomko is down on the mat but Joe is down on the mat holding his right knee. Tomko is still not bleeding and he now has the chair. Both men are back to their feet, Tomko picks up the chair and nails Joe but Joe gets a arm up and the chair misses his head. Joe is back down on the mat and Tomko still has the chair. As Joe is getting back to his feet, Tomko is across the ring waiting. Tomko tries to deliver a boot but Joe sidesteps it. Joe has Tomko in the rear naked choke. Tomko taps the mat and the ref signals to ring the bell. As Tomko and the ref get out of the ring, the ref raises Tomko’s hand. Joe can’t believe it but the ref tells him to look at his right arm. Joe’s arm is bleeding.
