WWE
ECW
March 4, 2008 – Recap by Sassy
Last week CM Punk won the Triple Threat No. 1 Contender’s
match. He will be facing Chavo Guerrero tonight for the ECW Championship.
Punk lost his title to Chavo after Edge interfered on Chavo’s behalf.
The show begins with Punk’s loss, the feud that has
followed between Punk and Chavo and the match last week between CM Punk, Elijah
Burke and Shelton Benjamin.
ECW
is broadcast from Cleveland, OH
On
the Sci-Fi Channel.

They retain the WWE Tag Team Titles
This match gave us a little more of Colin in the ring but he
isn’t keeping up well with his opponents.
Colin was a champion on the Indy circuit and only gave up that title
after he signed with WWE. It will be nice to see Colin break out of his newbie
mode and go into actual ring action. Colin did come out of his shy attitude to
one of chair swinging. Good job, Colin. Keep
that ECW attitude.
NOTE: After the match was over and a replay of the chair
action was shown, Styles makes the remark the match was almost like the original
ECW. No kidding, Styles.
Now tell that to someone in WWE’s booking department!

Winner
The
Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin
Stevie has been working his way back into the ring after
being out of action for medical reasons. He hasn’t lost his touch in the ring
and he and Benjamin worked quite well against each other in this match.
After the match, Benjamin takes the mic to remind the
audience he will be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania XXIV.
Replay of the end of the previous match.
Promo for Wrestlemania XXIV, with Carlito and Maria and a

Back from commercial break, promo for Wrestlemania XXIV, 26
days away.
This is like a one hour Wrestlemania commercial. Snoop Dogg
is going to be the Master of Ceremonies. Styles then gives the audience a replay
of Maria’s Playboy Cover unveiling on last night’s Raw.
I’ll skip that now like I skipped it last night. When the replay is
over, Layla and Kelly Kelly get into a battle backstage. Kofi Kingston has
pulled Kelly off Layla and a referee has pulled Layla off Kelly.
The
Big Red Machine Kane weighing 323 lbs.
Vs.
James
Curtis weighing 245 lbs., already in the ring
Audience favorite: Kane
My
favorite: Kane
Before the match gets underway, Chuck Palumbo appears at the
top of the entrance ramp on his motorcycle. Nice ride, Palumbo.
Winner
The
Big Red Machine Kane
Very short match as Tazz informs the audience that Palumbo
will have to face Kane this Friday on Smackdown.
Commercial break.
Back from commercial break, Styles introduces the Raw Rebound
– The Big Show faced Brandon “The Thrill” Hill in a mixed MMA match, with
Mayweather watching live via satellite in Las Vegas, NV. It wasn’t much of a
“match” but it was a build up to Show facing Mayweather at Wrestlemania XXIV.
Styles informs the audience that ECW General Manager Armando
Estrada has made a rematch for next week for the WWE Tag Team Championship with
Morrison and Miz facing Dreamer and Delaney in an extreme rules match.
Lena Yada is backstage with CM Punk. Punk tells Chavo he is a
coward because it takes Vickie Guerrero and Edge for Chavo to become a the ECW
champion.
