North
Carolina Independent Promotion Closes Its Doors
Posted on 1/08/108 by Maverick Omnicorp
World Wide Wrestling sadly announces that due to ongoing
health issues with its owners and management, it has no choice but to close its
doors effective immediately. We appreciate all of the overwhelming support that
has been received, and we certainly appreciate the good people of Thomasville
and the surrounding areas.
World Wide Wrestling was on the verge of returning real
professional wrestling to North Carolina, and we appreciate everyone who
welcomed it with open arms. Our two events drew very well, 141 on the first, and
120 on the second. The second event was held while WWE's RAW was just down the
road in Greensboro, and 120 real wrestling fans still chose us over the
alternative! Thanks to them especially.
Regretfully, all good things must come to an end, however
quick it may be. Again, on behalf of the staff and management of World Wide
Wrestling, we thank you, and we will miss you all.

Devil Bhudakahn Memorial Show takes place in Munhall, PA
on March 8
By Joe Dombrowski
DEVIL BHUDAKAHN MEMORIAL SHOW UPDATE: MORE MATCHES ADDED!
On Saturday night, March 8, 2008, family, friends,
co-workers, pupils, and fans alike will gather together at the Carnegie Library
(Their Athletic Club), 510 East Tenth Avenue, Munhall, Pennsylvania 15120 to
show their love and appreciation for everything that James Fawcett gave to them
both in and out of the ring. They'll express that love and appreciation by doing
what they do best, something James Fawcett dedicated much of his life to, and
what many of them dedicated their lives to right alongside him, professional
wrestling. It will be a night to celebrate the life, the times, and the memories
of a truly dedicated and special performer, peer, mentor, and most importantly,
friend.
After much hard work and effort, show organizers have now
begun to formulate what is sure to be a historic card as wrestling stars and
personalities, past and present, from throughout the region have agreed to
donate their time and join together to remember and honor one of their own.
Just added this week to the card…
CWF Heavyweight Title: The Beast vs. Powerhouse Hughes
The Championship Wrestling Federation, based in southwest
Pennsylvania, has been a staple of wrestling in the region for many years,
hosting some of the area’s most promising young stars and well-respected
veterans. It was also one of the promotions Devil Bhudakahn called home before
his tragic passing. CWF will be well represented at the Devil Bhudakahn Memorial
Show, as its most dominant champion defends against perhaps its greatest
champion. The Beast has dominated CWF since capturing its top prize, gaining a
staggering nineteen straight victories. His top student, and perhaps the
greatest CWF Champion in history, Powerhouse Hughes, is the current top
challenger and looks to reclaim the title he once held for over one full year.
It’s the first ever meeting between teacher and student with very high stakes
and deep meaning.
Pick Your Partner: Shirley Doe & ??? vs. Super Hentai
& ???
Shirley Doe and Super Hentai are nearly synonymous with one
another thanks to an extremely emotional love/hate relationship that has
stretched back several years. Super Hentai was Devil Bhudakahn’s chief rival
in the early days of each man’s career. Both men solidified their reputation
in the area with high-risk, fast-paced offense with each match turning into a
dangerous game of “Can You Top This?”. When Devil thought he needed help to
put Hentai behind him once and for all, The Hellfire Club was formed, with none
other than the madman himself, Shirley Doe, joining Devil as a charter member.
On March 8, the rivalry is revisited as Doe and Hentai clash for the first time
in nearly five years, with the added high stakes of each man selecting his own
tag team partner which will not be revealed until the night of the event. Their
last meeting was a Texas Death Match legendary for its brutality. What will Doe
and Hentai do to one another this time? Who will each man select to be their tag
team partner for this sure-fire war?
In addition to this already confirmed attraction…
Sterling James Keenan vs. Mr. Wrestling III
A contrast in styles if there ever was one as two very
distinct and unique personalities will clash in one of the evening’s feature
bouts. One, Sterling James Keenan, is infamous as a calculated evil genius. The
man behind “Iron City Hardcore” has conquered the world, appearing in
virtually every major promotion in existence, and winning championships on
multiple continents. His opposition is a transplant from another era of thought.
A man who stands for the class and tradition that this fine sport was built
upon: Mr. Wrestling III, the latest in a succession of skilled athletes to don
the trademark white mask and carry on the namesake of Mr. Wrestling. Sterling
has promised he has something special in store for Mr. Wrestling III, but will
it be enough? Will the time-tested tactics of the Mr. Wrestling school of
thought be enough to tame SJK? Or will Mr. Wrestling III be forced to follow the
creed encrypted across Sterling’s own knuckles: “Stay Down”?
Please check back as further matches and appearances are
announced in the coming weeks. In addition to the in-ring action that evening,
fans in attendance will have the chance to take part in several special raffles
and auctions throughout the evening, with the opportunity to win a variety of
great prizes, including items made exclusively for this event, as well as
personalized memorabilia of various top wrestling stars.
Ticket prices are $15 for front row, $10 General Admission.
All show and raffle proceeds will go directly toward James Fawcett's mother
Cindy, and his three young daughters, Madeline, Gwendolyn, and Lillian Rose.
Tickets will be made available starting January 1 via The Official Devil
Bhudakahn Memorial Show MySpace Page at http://www.myspace.com/devilbmemorial
We invite you all to stay posted for upcoming press releases
as further updates on this show are made available, and to be a part of this
special night in some form or fashion, as we honor our friend, say "thank
you", and "goodbye".

NWA Main Event Press Release
Mike Porter issued a press release announcing ambitious
expansion plans for his Middle Tennessee-based NWA Main Event promotion. Porter
stated that Main Event was planning on signing a contract with a network
affiliate in the Nashville market for a 60-minute wrestling show. In addition,
the show would air on a new, high-powered independent station that hopes to be
on the air by March 2008. The station will be carried on 30 cable systems in
southern Tennessee and northern Alabama, according to Porter. The release
indicated that "The Crippler" Jeff Daniels is returning to the company
in the capacity of matchmaker and co-producer of the new television show. Porter
also stated that Main Event would be co-promoting shows with Bert Prentice’s
NWA Southeastern Championship Wrestling in Kentucky and Middle Tennessee, and
with Linda Marx’s NWA Wrestle Birmingham in northern Alabama. Prentice had
already announced plans to run weekly Tuesday night shows at the Nashville
Fairgrounds starting January 15. Those shows will be promoted as USA/NWA
presents Southeastern Championship Wrestling. Main Event recently discontinued
their weekly venues in both Pulaski and Columbia, TN. Main Event is involved in
a promotional war with Southern All-Star Wrestling. The conflict started when
Freddie Morton, the owner of Main Event's venue in Columbia, announced plans to
run shows in his building under the SAW banner. With Memphis wrestling in
reruns, SAW also has the only 60-minute wrestling show in Tennessee currently
airing new material. (Larry Goodman)
Rowdy Roddy Piper Fills In The Blanks
Roddy Piper posted the following on his official website:
Piper’s Disappearing Act
I will not be at the World Wrestling Association’s “Bash
at the BallPark” on Jan. 19, 2008.
At this time I would like to clear up a few rumors. I made an
appearance at Horrorhound Weekend 2007. Horrorhound had paid for airplane
tickets and my money up front to sign autographs and I promised I would make
this show.
During the time before I went to Horrorhound Weekend, a man
named Jayson kept calling me asking me if I would come to his event which was 45
minutes away from the Horrorhound event. Jayson was very polite and persistant.
After receiving several calls from him and thinking about this small show, I
decided the last time I talked to Jayson, that these small independents need to
be supported as it gives an income to a lot of wrestlers, both upcoming and some
that are mainstays. So the mistake I made was saying yes to the promotion. After
doing an all day autograph session at the Horrorhound Weekend, (the people who
had paid for me) They sent a Honda with 2 men already in it to drive me to the
show. Seeing how it was just a touch crowded, I had a car bring me to the show
and performed what I promised I would. Which was a Piper’s Pit. In trying to
help this independent organization, I did not beat anyone up, pin anyone, to the
contrary I got beat up myself and as I left the ring the last match was already
started. It was a long day and it was time for me to go home. I had done my job
and gave Jayson the rub. After making the mistake of making this show, I heard
the next day about the infamous “Piper’s disappearing act”. It seems that
the promotion told the fans that I was coming to do a Piper’s Pit and staying
to do an autograph session. Now let us all think about this a moment, as it is a
business. At no time did I say an autograph session. My reasoning is simple and
I think you will all agree. Horrorhound paid me a sum of money and plane tickets
as I said, for the sole purpose of the good fans to buy a ticket, come in and
get autographs from myself and many other great celebritys there. If I had
signed autographs at Jayson’s show on Horrorhound’s nickel, it at the very
least would have been extremely unethical and just pure wrong for the people at
Horrorhound as that was their sole purpose, Autographs. So I left after I did
Piper’s Pit because at my stage hanging around the dressing room after I do my
performance isn’t on my list of top 10 fun things to do. I took the heat that
had been stirred on the different web information sites, as I tried to do the
right thing and I cannot explain every move I make.
However, the next thing I heard was I was booked on, “Bash
at the Ballpark” by Jayson. Jayson does not represent Roddy Piper. When this
was brought to my attention I called Michael the Promoter some 4 weeks ago and
told him i knew nothing of the booking. This is all the explanation I think you
need as I don’t want to bore you. However I will not be, again, will not be at
the “Bash at the BallPark”. Any advertisement to the contrary is completely
false.
The last thing I would like to explain to those who want to
know, is, if we the wrestlers allow these people called promoters to play these
little games, believe me from my experiance, it will kill the independent
wrestling business that so many outstanding wrestlers depend on (i.e. San
Francisco). They are simply ripping off the wrestling fan by advertising a name,
the wrestling fan comes and pays and then they tell them there was a family
emergency. Please do not take what I say lightly as the good independent
promoters, (including the two I speak of, that I’ve been told are good
promoters, but handled this situation wrong from lack of experiance with Roddy
Piper) all need to be supported in this day and age.
I wish you all a Wonderful 2008 and I am still making
personal appearances that I, Roddy Piper, confirm. I hope to see you all at
these events throughout the year.
That is the simple truth.
Ever Forward,
Roddy Piper
Steve Corino Checks In
In order to correct tons of rumors flying around about what
Steve Corino will be doing in the near future, he has decided to take to the
Internet…The Corino Chronicles.
You can read his Live Journal at the above site or you can go
to his MySpace page: www.MySpace.com/SteveCorino.
Possible Bad News for the Indys – and TNA Fans
Steve Gerweck reports that TNA mainstay “Wildcat” Chris
Harris, a member of the multiple time tag team champions America’s Most
Wanted, has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Apparently Harris’ contract with TNA expired last week, and
despite the company wanting him to stay, Harris agreed to terms with WWE.
Source: www.gerweck.net
One report states that Chris has one more week on his TNA
contract. Chris has worked Indy shows especially in Kentucky while under
contract with TNA. If Chris does make a move, no one can blame him.
It’s another case of TNA not using the talent they have in the locker
room.
Last word indicates Chris was telling everyone backstage that
his agent had come to terms with WWE and a booking, not developmental, contract.
As of Friday, January 11, 2007, TNA’s official website
states that Wildcat Chris Harris is no longer with the company.
There is another rumor indicating Cowboy James Storm
officially resigned from TNA this week.

AWESOME returns to Seaside Heights, NJ on January 26
Bill Miller
Rick Cataldo to host Diva Fashion Show at AWESOME One Year
Anniversary Show on January 26
Jan. 11 – The AWESOME One Year Anniversary Show is just 15
days away. As the wrestling world waits to see who will be the first Champion of
AWESOME in a grueling eight man single elimination tournament that includes ECW
legend Spike Dudley, the management staff at American Wrestling’s Elite Stars
Of Mat Entertainment remains hard at work to make this event our biggest and
best event yet.
With that in mind Commissioner Joe Rules has announced that
he has granted the request of the glamour boy Rick Cataldo to be the host of a
Diva Fashion Show. Rick who claims to be the world’s biggest diva and who
spends most his time perusing the latest fashion news out of Gay Paris no doubt
will be presenting a spectacle that will remind our fans why the word
Entertainment is part of the name of our promotion.
“Yoo-hoo,” said Rick when reached for comment. “Do I
have something planned? Darling I always have something planned. See I may have
lost my chance to qualify for the Championship of AWESOME Tournament but make no
doubt the spotlight is still mine. See this is only called a diva fashion show
because I’m the host and we all know I’m the biggest diva to hit pop culture
since Marilyn Monroe. So when this night is done ain’t no one going to be
talking about the new champion. No, no, no, Honey--they are all going to be
talking about me.”
And while our fans may not care for the controversial Cataldo,
they will no doubt be quite pleased by the list of female Stars who have signed
up to participate on Jan. 26 at American Legion Post 351, 1400 Bay Blvd.,
Seaside Heights, NJ 08751.
The participants (in alphabetical order) include: Cammo,
Chrissy Rivera, Jana, Liz Savage and Taylor Nicole.
“Look I know Rick can be underhanded and probably has
something up his sleeve with this request,” said Commissioner Rules, “but I
also know my first responsibility is to the fans and considering these ladies
are all quite beautiful I think our fans will enjoy the chance to see what type
of fashions the ladies choose to model as they each attempt to win this
thing.”
Of course these ladies are all much more than eye candy. As a
valet to the Great Cerenzio, Cammo ensures the B-Team remains popular with fans
at every event her man wrestles on. Chrissy Rivera has extensive experience
managing and commentating in the Philadelphia area. Jana is a very accomplished
in-ring competitor, whose has toughness in facing both men and women have made
her a crowd favorite. Liz Savage has been in AWESOME since day one and has
proven to be among the best managers the entire sport has to offer. Taylor
Nicole is also an accomplished in-ring competitor and who also has a managing
license as member of the Commune.
All of these ladies have a competitive streak and with an
almost even split of Stars that are crowd favorites and Stars that are
controversial it should certainly make for an interesting dynamic. Throw in
Cataldo’s obsession with being the center of attention at all times and
there’s a lot more to this contest than meets the eye. Of course given the
stunning beauty of these Stars what meets the eye should be more than enough to
Entertain the great fans of AWESOME.
In addition to the fashion show there will be a championship
tournament. First round matches include Jay Blaze vs. Eric Cooper, Spike Dudley
vs. Lord Jasin Karloff, Justin Corino vs. Dirty Don Montoya, and Kekoa “the
Flyin' Hawaiian” vs. Franciz. Also Biggie Biggs chooses partner to seek
revenge on Latin Revolution, and several Jersey Shore based talents will also be
in action.
Tickets for AWESOME – The One Year Anniversary Show are on
sale now. Tickets cost just $15 for adults/teens and $12 for children 12 and
under. The One year Anniversary Show will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 at
Seaside Heights American Legion Post 351, 1400 Bay Blvd., Seaside Heights NJ

Fans,
After years in the dark, one of the most prominent feds in
Indiana wrestling history returns from the ashes-Circle City Wrestling! In the
90's, CCW featured some great up and comers, including the likes of Sabu, Prince

numerous wrestling standouts a start, and now it has returned to reclaim it's
glory! Here's all of the info you need to know about this great fed's return:
Circle City Wrestling will be at the Circle City Flea Market,
which is located on the Southside of Indy, about 1 mile North of the East Street
exit off of I-465-on Saturday, January 26th. Our doors will open at 6:30 p.m.....and
Belltime is 7:30... Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Flea Market from
Coombs Collectibles(which is the first big booth to your right as you

night of the show, the overhead door at the front of the building will be open
for admittance and ticket sales. There will be 6 big matches, including a

EVENTS
January 19, 2008 – Smak Fitness, MOKENA, IL With "MAKE
YOUR MARK"***
The current crop of wrestling students at the ElitePro Dojo
in New Lenox, IL have been granted an enormous opportunity by the trainers to
compete in their first wrestling show.
At "Make Your Mark" the students will compete in a
Battle Royal with the winner advancing to that night's main event. In the main
event, the victorious student will team with two members of the current ElitePro
roster (yet to be determined) against all three Thomaselli brothers - Vito, Sal
and Brandon - who also happen to be the head trainers at the ElitePro Dojo.
HIGHLY REGARDED DOWNSTATE ILLINOIS TALENT TO GET OPPORTUNITY
ON 1/19 IN MOKENA, IL
The show is not only a chance for one determined student to
show his or her trainer what they have learned, it will also be an opportunity
for some young, promising talent from downstate Illinois to get an opportunity
to make their mark in ElitePro.
Already signed for this big event are two young men by the
names of CJ Esparza and Nick Brubaker. The two talents were noticed on a recent
scouting trip by ElitePro officials and were offered an opportunity on Jan. 19.
OTHER TALENT SIGNED FOR "MAKE YOUR MARK"
A number of ElitePro regulars have been signed for this big
event. Acid Jaz & Marshe Rockett w/C-Red, "The Real Deal" Jay
Jensen, Jason Hades, Mike Horning, and Jake O'Neill are already signed for this
event, with just a few more spots to be filled. Keep checking www.eliteprowrestling.com
for updates.
In independent wrestling, it is often considered a joke when
a promotion introduces a "television title", when they do not actually
have a show on television.
Those fans that have been following ElitePro in recent months
know that we aren't like most other wrestling promotions. In this case, we
actually have a TV show (which you can see every Friday on Comcast Cable Ch.
19). It only seemed fitting for the ElitePro office to decide that the new
"secondary" title, scheduled to be decided at the "Grand
Finale" in February in Oak Forest, would officially be named the "EliteTV
Title".
On January 5th in Steger, IL at "Season Premiere",
the new belt was revealed for the first time. EliteProWrestling.com has learned
that it is a Reggie Parks belt.

JAPW – Jersey All Pro Wrestling
EVENTS
After closing out our 10th year on a high note in front of
over 800 fans at Season's Beatings 2007, What better way to start off 2008 than
for JAPW to return to the place where it all began: Beautiful Hudson County, NJ
on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Jersey All Pro Wrestling gets the New Year off with a bang as
we proudly present "RECLAIMING HUDSON" at the Golden Door Charter
School, 180 9th Street, in Jersey City, NJ, just minutes away from the PATH
Train (Pavonia/Newport Mall Station) and the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
line (Newport Station)
Tickets are now on sale at http://www.japw.net,
and will be on sale at the door the night of the show. General admission is just
$15. 1st row ringside is already sold out, but 2nd Row ringside is just $20, and
3rd Row is $15, but get your ringside tickets now as they WILL sell out.
Matches
In action at "Reclaiming Hudson"...JAPW World
Champion Low Ki will defend his Championship against one of the only men to pin
his shoulders to the mat in 2007, the Latin Monster that many say can't be
stopped-TNA Superstar and co-holder of the JAPW Tag Team Titles, LAX member
Hernandez!
After dominating just about everyone that he has faced over
the last 3 years in JAPW, Low-Ki is considered by many to be the underdog
against Hernandez. Could fans in Jersey City see a new champion crowned, or will
Low-Ki find a way to win, no matter what it takes?
After the incredible 3 way match at Season's Beatings that
saw the LAX retain their Tag Team Titles in their toughest battle yet, Hernandez
is getting his World Title Match, But his LAX partner, TNA Superstar- "The
"Notorious 187" Homicide is not taking the night off, as Homicide has
requested a 3 way match against 2 of his most bitter enemies: Teddy Hart and
Eddie Kingston!
Since Hart's controversial return to JAPW at the 10th
Anniversary show, no one has been able to predict what Teddy Hart's next move
will be except for the fact that he does not seem to just be satisfied with just
costing Homicide the JAPW World Title, he seems bent on destroying all that
Homicide cares for!
Eddie Kingston has an axe to grind not only with Homicide,
but with Teddy Hart as well. He sees Homicide as the "Old Guard" in
JAPW that were "holding him down", and Hart as the man who swooped in
and interjected himself into what Kingston saw as his time to take the
spotlight.
Any way you look at it, enough fuel has been dumped on this
fire to make this match explode and prove why Jersey All Pro Wrestling delivers
when it says: "We Guarantee Excitement!"
"Money! Money! Yeah! Yeah!"- Remember those words,
as you are sure to hear all the fans in attendance hollering that night as
former WWE Superstars Cryme Tyme returns to JAPW and make their debuts in Dirty
Jersey!
The Grim Reefer will receive his rematch for the NJ State
title against the man that defeated him for that belt - Archadia! Archadia's new
attitude has certainly put some extra checks in the win column, even if the
rules were broken to get those wins. After Archadia's interference cost Reefer a
win at Season's Beatings, Reefer is set to get his revenge, and the NJ State
title back.
What would A JAPW Event in Jersey City, NJ without TNA
Superstar Jay Lethal as he takes on a man that is quickly building a cult
following in JAPW, Chris Hero. After "going back to his Roots" at
Season's Beatings, will the man who is sometimes known as "Black
Machismo" keep it "real" or will the "madness" take
over once again? Either way, Lethal better be at his best against Hero, who is
hungry for a win after his loss last month to AJ Styles.
After the 5 star match that opened the show at Season's
Beatings, JAPW management was quick to sign a rematch between TNA Superstar
Sonjay Dutt & Xavier. Both men pulled out all the stops in their first match
that narrowly saw Dutt get the win. Xavier is looking to even up the score and
make the highflying "Playa from the Himalayas" crash back down to
earth.
Up and coming light heavyweight Bandito Jr. will face off
with "The Suicidal Demon" Azriael in a match that could very well
steal the show!
The undefeated Tag Team of Monsta Mack & Havok will
battle BLKOut Members SWB & Sabian in Tag team action. Mack and Havok have
destroyed everyone that have crossed their paths so far, but they have never
faced a team like BLKOut before...Will the train come off the tracks in Jersey
City?
"Dangerous" Devon Storm looks to live up to his
nickname as he steps back into the ring against his opponent from the 10th
anniversary show- Danny Demanto. Storm and Demanto have both shown that
"going hardcore" is something that neither man is afraid to do, and we
can be certain that this match will be no different. Demanto is looking to
avenge his loss against the veteran Storm.

NWA Pro East
EVENTS
NWA Pro East are happy to announce the main event of our February 2nd show
just a couple of weeks away at the Lodi Knights of Columbus. It will be the
"Battle of the Young Veterans." The NWA Pro Television Title will be
defended in the main event as Judas Young, currrent reigning champion, takes on
Supreme Lee Great.
Great, a WXW mainstay for years, is no stranger to titles
despite his young age and vows to take the championship on February 2nd. Young,
who won the title in a triple threat match against Josh Daniels and Ryan Wing,
makes his first and quite possibly only defense of the prestigous belt. With our
Colours show allready on the air by the time this match hits the ring, both
competitors are hungry to stay on top and prove to a nationwide audience they
deserve the spotlight.
Also signed for February 2nd is a battle between two NWA Pro
East mainstays who are no strangers to each other as the ultra sexy Joe
"So" Delicious takes on Mac Daddy Flex. Both of these men came from
the New York area and have seen each other from all angles, but this will be
there first meeting against one another inside an NWA ring. Can the bulk and
brawn of Flex put down the ego of Joe? Or will Joe "So" Delicious pick
up an important win and continue to climb towards the top of the ladder in NWA
Pro East.
Also appearing on February 2nd will NWA Pro East Tag Team
Champions The Playa's Club with a title defense that night. In other action you
will see "Sure Thing" Ryan Wing, Donnie Bon Jovi, "Simply the

Middlesex County HS for Hartfield Volunteer Fire Dept.
Fundraiser
With NWA WORLD TITLE MATCH!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Saluda, Virginia) The NWA superstars are back and are set to
face off in an unforgettable night of action at the Middlesex County HS on
Saturday, February 16, 2008 with a 7:30pm starting time. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Current NWA World Champion ‘Scrap Iron’ Adam Pearce will
battle against NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion, and local fan favorite
‘Mr. Mid Atlantic’ Damien Wayne in the main event, while the bad blood boils
over between “The Old School Empire”, a tag team of Gloucester resident
Preston Quinn and Saluda’s own ‘Big Time’ Mike Booth snd the wildly
popular tag team of Sean Denny and his brother, Markie D., aka “The Geordie
Bulldogs”. Alpha Champion ‘The Archangel’ Grail, a life long resident of
King and Queen County, will defend his Alpha Championship strap against the
mighty and mysterious Vulstag! Also appearing are Chris Escobar, Shy, Brandon
Day, Tiger Blue, and other stars of the National Wrestling Alliance.
Middlesex County HS is located at 454 General Puller Highway
in Saluda. For tickets call 804-240-1774. Tickets are only $10 and children
under 5 are free.
The National Wrestling Alliance delivers a distinct brand of
high-risk, athletic entertainment. The NWA’s roster includes the brightest
future stars in wrestling today, such as Denny, Wayne, Booth, Grail, and Quinn.
The NWA features the innovative concept Alpha Title matches where the challenger
gets to pick a special stipulation for that match.
“Last year’s event was even better than the first one we
did. This year, with the addition of a World Title match, we expect to be even
more successful,” said the driving force behind the event, Alan Blake. “The
Hartfield Volunteer Fire Dept still gets by mainly on donations and fundraisers.
The National Wrestling Alliance is one of our most profitable fundraisers that
we have ever had, by far.”
“Our main function as a professional wrestling organization
is to help raise funds for organizations like Hartfield. In the past, we helped
raise money for King and Queen County Elementary School, the American Cancer
Society, Atkins Volunteer Fire Department, and several Community Centers in
Richmond,” said promoter and owner Rick OBrien. “With tickets priced at only
$10, where else can you go for a night of family friendly professional wrestling
that is helping to support a great community based cause?”

NWS In South River & Brick, NJ January 25th-26th With the Jersey J-Cup
Tag-Team Tournament, plus Rikishi, The Blue Meanie, The Patriot and More
As that "other wrestling company" prepares for a
big weekend in the tri-state area at the end of January, National Wrestling
Superstars has plans of its own in New Jersey for that weekend, and that
includes two gigantic shows January 25th & 26th, in two of its most popular
New Jersey venues.
Friday night January 25th, NWS returns to the South River, NJ
VFW Hall, 31 Reid Street (right off Main Street, minutes from Route 18), with a
7:45pm bell time.
Taking the plunge in South River will be a host of tag-teams,
as NWS will present the Second Annual Jersey J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament. Last
year's tournament was held nearby in Sayreville and drew a standing-room-only
crowd. This year, the field includes the current NWS Tag-Team Champions The
Psychedelic Studs (Ace Darling & Nicky Oceans), as well as area tag-team
standouts such as The Wild Breed and The Gemini Trojans. In addition, a pair of
former TV superstars will be teaming up, as former WWE & WCW star
"America's Hero" The Patriot will join forces with former ECW star The
Blue Meanie. This awesome pairing will no doubt be a challenge to all the other
teams. (Stay tuned as other teams will be announced in the coming weeks.) And if
that wasn't enough, an even bigger name (attached to a very big man) will be
creating a rumble of his own in South River, as the one and only master of the
"stinkface", WWE mega-star Rikishi, will be shaking up the boards all
over VFW Hall.
Saturday night January 26th, NWS returns to the Jersey Shore
venue with a track record of selling out every single NWS show that has been
there, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge, 2491 Hooper Avenue (minutes from Route 70 and
the Brick Plaza), with a 7:45pm bell time.
In the great tradition of groundbreaking events that NWS has
brought to Brick, the fans will witness the first-ever Jersey-Shore
Triple-Threat Tag-Team Tournament, featuring standouts such as the current NWS
NWS Tag-Team Champions The Psychedelic Studs (Ace Darling & Nicky Oceans),
as well as area tag-team standouts such as The Wild Breed and The Gemini
Trojans, with more teams to be announced in the coming weeks. In addition to the
tournament, the one and only former WWE monster and master of the "Stinkface",
Rikishi will be rumbling around the ring, looking to crush his next victim.
Joining the big Samoan will be likes of former WWE & WCW star
"America's Hero" The Patriot, and former ECW stars The Blue Meanie,
Julio Dinero, and "Dastardly Danny Doring.
Tickets for these not-to-be-missed events, which are selling
out fast, are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids & seniors, and can be
ordered by phone by calling NWS at 1-732-888-1704. All major credit cards are
accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
Keep reading this publication, as more superstars and matches
will be announced in the coming weeks.
