Global iMPACT
Spike TV will air Global iMPACT this Thursday night after the
weekly iMPACT show.
Wildcat Chris Harris
According to various Internet sources, including TNA’s
official website, Wildcat Chris Harris has departed. His contract expired and he
chose not to renew it. Harris’s bio has been removed from the official TNA
roster page.
NOTE: On Saturday morning, TNA’s website noted Harris
was gone, by Saturday night, the blurb was gone.
Cowboy James Storm
At the same time Wildcat Chris Harris was reported as gone
from TNA, rumors surfaced that Storm would be right behind him. We have found no
clarification of this rumor. Storm is still listed in the bio section of TNA’s
roster page.
Senshi
It is our understanding that Senshi has not left TNA but will
be working a reduced pay per appearance schedule.
Gail Kim
Internet rumors surfaced last week indicating Gail Kim had
suffered a leg injury during her match with Awesome Kong. According to Gail, she
did not hurt her leg but did suffer a minor concussion during that match.
New and Not So New Faces
Shelly Martinez has resurfaced as Salina, the mystery member
of the Latin American Exchange.
Robert Roode’s Number One Fan has replaced Ms. Brooks in
Robert Roode, Inc. Although she previously worked the Independent Circuit as
“Rain”, real name Bonnie Maxon, was introduced during last week’s iMPACT
as Ms. Peyton Banks.
Kurt Angle and MMA News
MMA Promoter Blasts Kurt Angle, Kennedy
Article By: Ryan Clark, January 10, 2008
Kurt Otto, of the IFL, was interviewed on Inside MMA on
12/28. Otto said that certain athletes are making a mockery of the MMA world,
and then brought up Kurt Angle. Otto said they had negotiated with Angle, and
had an agreement to do a fight. Otto said he believed Angle got cold feet when
he was flown in for an event in Hollywood, FL, and sat ringside watching the
fights. Angle has also negotiated with Bodog and UFC in the past, in addition to
the IFL.
Matt Morgan Update
Look for Matt to enter the wrestling ring soon. Rumors
indicate TNA wanted him to work the mic before working the ring. Management
appears to like what they see and have made a decision to allow him to work as a
wrestler.
Homicide
TNA star and LAX member Homicide was a guest on Wrestling
Observer Live. He put over Jersey All Pro Wrestling as the top independent
promotion. Homicide talked about meeting Rick Martel during the recent Canadian
tour, and said he was quite humble. He said he'll eventually need shoulder
surgery, and will miss months of action. When asked about ever wanting to quit
the business, Homicide said he had considered leaving due to the politics.

Rick Martel
Former WWF World Tag Team Championship Rick Martel appeared
at the 12/28 TNA house show in Quebec City -- which is his hometown. LAX beat
former Team Canada members Robert Roode and Johnny Devine at the show, which was
a set up for a Rick Martel run-in. After the match, Devine taunted Martel.
Martel confronted Devine and made him tap out. Roode then tried to attack
Martel, but Sylvain Grenier ran in for the save.
Sylvan Grenier
Former WWE World Tag Team Champion Sylvain Grenier worked his
first TNA show at the 12/27 house show in Montreal. Grenier does commentary for
the French language broadcasts of Impact. He came out at the start of the show
to welcome the crowd. After the Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage main event that
ended in a DQ because Angle hit Cage with the title belt, Angle was planning on
giving a chairshot to Cage, but Grenier did a run-in and stopped him. The show
ended with Cage putting Angle in the sharpshooter with him tapping. Angle then
did a babyface promo where he thanked the fans for coming. He also ripped WWE.
Angle then posed for photos with fans in the middle of the ring for $20 a pop.
