- Comedy Central has purchased the entire AWA tape collection from Verne Gagne.
- The National Enquirer, dated today, features the story of the HHH-Chyna breakup.
- NWA Mid-Atlantic in Hartsville, SC had Buff Bagwell take the heavyweight title from champion Rikki Nelson.
- The Premiere Radio Network is working on a two-hour show, Piledriver: The Rock and Wrestling Radio Show, to be hosted by Dawn Marie.
- Bobby Heenan cancelled his bookings for the first set of the XWF house shows. Heenan was to have been a manager.
- How big is the WWF? According to the Wrestling Observer, the payroll includes 165 performers.
- The UK gets more WWF TV than any other country, with the addition of WWF Superstars and WWF Live Wire, plus a classics show featuring 1987 episodes of WWF Superstars.
- The FCC has set Feb 4, 2002 as the last day to hear any thoughts on the proposed DISH network acquistion of DIRECTV.
- HHH, The Rock and Steve Austin will all be in the Rumble in January. It is expected that none of them will be in individual matches, thus upping the significance of the Rumble.
- The Dec 31 episode of WWF Raw will be a taped, Best of version. Votes will be gathered from the internet.
- Sting's TW-AOL contract expires on Dec 31. Both the XWF and World Wrestling All Stars are actively pursuing him.

- Brent Bozell, the mouthpiece of the defunct Parents TV Council, in Mon's editions of The Washington Times, calls the WWF an overflowing septic tank.
- Randy Savage donated $10,000 to the All-Children's Hospital in St Petersburg yesterday afternoon as the fulfillment of a promise, in the event that Hulk HOGan refused to wrestle him, with the proceeds going to the hospital. Joining Savage was WWA pres Andrew Mc Manus, with the announcement that Savage has joined the group, and would be on the Feb 24 Revolution ppv.
