6:00 PM ET UPDATE........ WCW was sold today to Fusient Media Ventures. A corporate team led by Eric Bischoff successfully bid and won total control of the company and the contracts of office employees and wrestling talent. Officers for the Fusient organization, headquartered in New York, include the co-founders of ESPN Classic Sports Network, Brian T Bedol, as President and CEO, and Stephen D Greenberg, as co-chairman. Outgoing boss Brad Seigel sent a memo to all employess after annonuncing the sale shortly before 10 AM today. Bischoff was immediately installed as President of WCW, marking his second rum in that position. Turner Broadcasing will maintain a minority interest in the company, and will continue to broadcast WCW programming. Nitro may move from TNT to another Turner network, as Turner redesigns TNT later this year. The Fusient website prominently features Goldberg and HOG-an, along with the WCW logo. WCW is rumored to be shutting down for a three week period in the near future to regroup. Bischoff says that Fusient will give WCW "the adrenaline shot it needs" in order to become the number one sports entertainemt medium. The deal will close in 30-60 days; no financial specifics were disclosed. ...........As a side note last night's WCW Thunder posted a 2.2.............. 12:00 AM ET UPDATE......... Don't believe them. The facts have already been reported here regarding the impaasse between the two parties....Dean Malenko vs Lita for the WWF Lightweight Title later this year. Put your money on Lita....WCW has introduced a way to order ppvs online at wcw.com....'Taker moving from Tampa to an undisclosed location in Texas.....Eric Biscoff's offer to purchase WCW is in the neighborhood of $60 million.....
