Rob's Journal

Sunday Evening, August 25, 2002..... Of Rabbits and Music: This past Spring, we had a ma and pa rabbit to raise a litter of bunnies along the foundation in the front of the house. Hidden by shrubs and out of the direct sunlight, it was not rare to see the litter out at sunset, playing in the back yard. For the past two weeks or so, there has been a rabbit content to spend his days alongside the foundation of the back part of the house, nestled amongst the impatients, out of the sun. He will come out at dusk, feed in the back yard, play at will, and then settle in again until dark, when, I would suppose, he goes out to prowl. Oblivious to the noise of the air conditioner or to the exiting to and from the adjacent back porch, he stretches, scratches, and busies himself amongst the flowers. Raised here, he seems to be content to be a part of the family.... This has been a very good beginning to the school year thus far. I've added music to my classroom, and it seems to have helped the atmosphere and the work rate. Which brings me to music. Listening to American Top 40's weekly flashback this afternoon, I was reminded that, with all due respect to Ja Rule, J Lo and Little Bow-Wow, I have to yield respect to Chicago, Survivor, REO Speedwagon, Air Supply, Styx, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Journey and Foreigner. No one will ever match the vocals of Steve Perry or Kevin Cronin. I still remember seeing Survivor and Chicago in concert in Greensboro years ago. 102 may Jam, but the 70's and 80's rock lives on. Thank you for being with me here at David Roberson . Com.
