Monday September 11..........
Family. Since Laura's death, I've given a lot of thought to that term. It is no secret that I feel a strong love for South Rowan High School.
In the 15 years I was there, I met some wonderful people. The extent to which the school has affected my life has been vast. As much as my immediate family of my dad, mom, brother, sister-in-law and 2 nieces is vital, so are my extended families at East Forsyth and South Rowan. From time to time, I fondly recall memories of Carolyn Luther in the office,
Bill Deaver's support,
Bob Parker's words of inspiration,
Henry Trexler's sense of caring,
Jim Pope's big grin as he bounced down the hallway, Norma Walker's eyes, Linda Bethea's calls on snowy mornings, Lillian Moore's shoulder and cute grin, David Overcash's jokes and Karen Harris'
calm demeanor and words of encouragement.
In the 2 years I've been at East Forsyth,
I've made more than a few friends. I've earned a lot of respect. My kids call me "Rob." But whenever I think of school family, I always find myself taking that short trip back to South Rowan.
