Friday Night, November 9, 2001...... After spending 19 days in the repair shop, I was able to drive my Thunderbird home on Wed, only to drive it back into the shop yesterday... for a new battery. The culprit was a broken valve spring. If you are like me, you appreciate the simplistic explanaton of that term. Basically, it was a not-so-common problem that was hidden by the engine, which had to be taken apart and put back together. The result is a car which drives like new, with a new 5-year battery. It looks like the Stratus will have to wait.. for now. The bond issue passed, by a 2-to-1 margin. As you can plainly see by the previous entry, I allowed my personal feelings to become involved in the issue. I did vote no, and I still feel that it was the right vote.
