Puntazzo's disease, ulcer,

and death.

last step

These are photos of Diplodus puntazzo (Sparidae) from the first stages of disease to death.

I'm graduating in marine biology and I grewup about 150.000 D. puntazzo to this size (about 15 gr. average weight).

Everything was almost all-right till the animals were in the hatchery.

Three weeks ago (referring to photos) animals were carried out and after one week they started showing holes on their body.

Holes are often on both sides of the body, and usually one is bigger (twice or more) than the opposite one.

Holes are always in the same position and animals have perfect eyes and fins.

Fishes die at rate of about 100 per day.

No one in the factory is able to help me, so, if you have already seen something similar in puntazzo or in other species,

please write to me:

thank you!!!
