A devastating defeat at the hands of Voyager. Once again I am forced to play on Tool, where I am uncomfortable, and another one jump homeworld. Note that the link south of 22,24 was not present at the start. Also, Voyager's HW has a link west of it, and there was another link south of Bullshit. First contact was a Qwiktrick, where my sci mutualed with his. I moved 2 colonies into Qwiktrick, one into 22,25, and colonized 22,24. I then tricked all four planets before Voyager could react. Once my pop was complete, I built 2 BR2 scis at qwiktrick (the early pop trick cost me in exploration). The next update I could see that Voyager was tricking, so I overbuilt BR2's at Qwiktrick, hoping to nuke an adjacent builder. I assumed that Voyager would have tricked one of the two adjacent planets. Unfortunately, Voyager tricked with Bullshit, and I had to wait an extra turn to bgin my assault. Of course by this time, Voyager was comfortably BR3 and smashed my fleet. The next update, I overbuilt again, this time at BR3, and tried to fork Bullshit and Bulldog. I moved 2 attacks into each planet, and held 2 sweepers and another 2 attacks at 21,23. Voyager out-guessed me, and left his homeworld open to nuke, trading perfectly with my 6 ships in Bullshit. Had I moved into his HW, he most likely would have been nuked. I managed to nuke his builder with the next wave, but Voyager managed to close all the jumps to his systems. I waited for BR4, and started a stargate assault on his HW from 21,23. Unfortunately, Voyager was able to hold me off... though it got hairy for him a couple of times. The resulting tech advantage lost me the game. Voyager decided to get cute and opened the link to the planet west of my HW, but the game was beyond me by then anyway. A well played game by Yoyager, and a missed oppurtunity on my part.
