General Information

Here's the stuff you need to know.....

The Annual Mack McKinnon Fetish and Fantasy Memorial Weekend ("Mack") is presented by The Other Side, formerly the National Leather Association of British Columbia, B.C.'s oldest and largest public, pansexual BDSM organization. Since it's birth in 1991, Mack has grown to become a "destination event" for the Pacific NorthWest BDSM community, and has welcomed attendees from throughout North America and overseas.

Dragon The Other Side is chaired by Master Dragon, an active member of the community, who has been involved in BDSM for a quarter-century. A founding member of the NLA:BC and Co-Chair and Executive Member since 1990, Dragon took the helm of The Other Side when the NLA chapter was dissolved due to conflict with the NLA:International. Besides being an experienced "player", Dragon was mentored by Mack McKinnon, and enjoys the educational and social aspects of the public BDSM scene.

Sharing the responsibility for presenting Mack IX is Butterfly. Butterfly is co-owner of PURGATORY!!!, the host facility, and has been an active "private player" for many years, having been married to Dragon. She made her public "debut" in 1996, and has been an active supporter and participant in the public community since then.

Brighiid Rounding out the team are Brighiid, slave and partner of Master Dragon, and Eagle, partner of Butterfly. Both of these individuals are active private and public players, and have worked diligently both at the construction of PURGATORY!!! and at most events since the opening. They both deserve a great deal of appreciation for their contributions to the local BDSM community.

The annual Mack events were created to provide a safe, supportive environment in which to learn about or express our interests in BDSM. In keeping with "The Dream" of Mack McKinnon, Mack IX is a pansexual event in which persons of all persuasions except one are welcome. The exception is idiots. Idiots are not welcome.

Now the big question....How much???

Mack IX is not designed to be a money-making venture. Our prices are geared to meet the costs of production, advertising, rentals, insurance, etc., and if there's change left over, it's a miracle!

Special discount rates are offered to Other Side members, as well as members of any other bona fide BDSM public play or educational organization. (Please note: Member discounts apply to members of actual "play" organizations only. "Fetish Dress" group membership will not be accepted.)

Advance Bookings It's always easier to plan an event if you have a rough idea as to how many are coming, so advance bookings are appreciated. Because BDSM revolves around trust and honesty, your word is all we need. Pre-payment is not required. Just let us know by phone or e-mail. As an incentive, those who pre-book will be entered into a draw for a special door prize.

Where To Stay If you're coming from out of town, we have some excellent suggestions on where to stay. Click the "HOTELS" link above. Reservations strongly recommended.

Special Thanks: Our Mack events have evolved over the last nine years, growing stronger and better each time. Throughout the years, certain names keep reappearing as people who have given generously of their time and efforts to help make the events a success. We would be very negligent indeed if we did not acknowledge Andrea, Sheena, Taylor, Fanny, Beverley, and many others who have lent their brains, energy, and commitment to BDSM. Special thanks are also due to Peter, our publicist, who works his butt off for us.

Last, but not least, our thanks to those who attend our events, enjoy them, and speak kindly of us. Sometimes, when the going gets tough, we need a reason to carry on. You are that reason. The closest thing we get to a pay cheque is "Well done", so your words mean a lot. Thank You!

Keep The Dream Alive!!
