Part 3

The two of them made their way to the baggage claim area. As theirs was the only luggage left in the area, they quickly retrieved it. They proceeded to the passenger pick-up area near the entrance of the airport where a representative from the movie studio was supposed to meet them.

As they approached the area, a young man rushed up to meet them. "Hi, are you guys from Tyler F/X?" he questioned. Without waiting for a reply, he said, "I'm Alex Karron, an intern from Tectonic.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Rollie Tyler and this is my partner Angela Ramirez."

"Hi." commented Angie.

Alex turned and caught his first good look at Angie. His jaw slackened, his eyes opened wider and had an appreciative look in them. He recovered quickly, but not quick enough, as he saw Angie grinning at his reaction to her.

"Taryn sent me to meet you. He wanted me to tell you he's sorry he couldn't meet you in person but he got stuck at the set. Here, let me take that from you," he said to Angie. He took the case from her before she had a chance to object. He proceeded to guide her out to the parking lot, leaving Rollie to trail along behind them.

Once they were in the truck, Alex gave them some bad news. "Earlier this morning, a train derailed near the highway we use to get to the set. It's blocking the entire road. The work crew thinks they can get it cleaned up by tomorrow morning but you're stuck in the city today. The office is going to try to book some hotel rooms this morning.

"Great," Angie said while simultaneously rolling her eyes.

"What do you mean, try?" was Rollie's question.

"Well, the city gets busy this time of year. It's really hard to get a hotel room without booking a few weeks in advance. This year is really bad though as one of the major hotels went on strike."

As they pulled into the custom broker's office, Alex said "Why don't you two go claim your stuff while I see if the office has found a place for you to stay yet."

Alex pulled up into the loading area. He reached for the cell phone as Rollie and Angie left the van.

"He likes you," said Rollie as he opened the door to the office.

" You see a problem with that?" was the reply, thinking that this guy was one of the best looking guys she had seen for a while. The phrase "eye candy" popped into her head when she thought about his blue-gray eyes and dark brown hair, not to mention his smile.

Yes, no, I don't know, he thought to himself, wishing he could give her a definitive answer. He was spared from having to vocalize his thoughts as the office clerk chose that moment to approach them.

In short order, their containers were located and brought out to the waiting van. Alex jumped out of the driver’s seat to help them load the boxes.

"Great news, the office was able to book you into a suite at the Twin Towers. I think you’ll like it there. It’s right downtown so you should be able to find someway to amuse yourselves until we can get to the set."

Approximately forty-five minutes later, they drove into the hotel’s parking structure. Instead of parking though, Alex just stopped near the door into the hotel.

"Did you guys want to leave your equipment in the van? I have to take the truck back to the yard where it’ll locked up until we go to the set. It’ll save you from having to unload it now, just to reload it again tomorrow."

Rollie readily accepted the offer, as he didn’t want to waste the time the next day.

"Uhh, Angie, after I drop off the truck, I was planning on going rollerblading. There’s an excellent trail just a few blocks from here. I was wondering if you’d like to go with me?"

"Well, I should go over the scenes with Rollie. After all, we didn’t get our usually amount of prep time for this production."

"Go. I insist. You need to relax, enjoy the sun. We can go over the stuff later."

"Great, I’ll meet you in the lobby in an hour, if that’s OK?" Alex said, eagerly awaiting Angie’s answer.

"Yeah, sure. Sounds great, " Angie replied as she joined Rollie on the walkway.
