Very Berry Cobbler

         1/4 cup butter, melted
         2 cups flour
         2 3/4 cups sugar, divided
         1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
         1/2 tsp. salt
         1/2 tsp. nutmeg
         2 cups whole milk
         4 cups fresh blueberries
         4 cups fresh raspberries
         4 cups fresh blackberries
         4 cups strawberries, stemmed & sliced

         Melt butter in 4 qt casserole. In mixing bowl, combine flour,
    2 cups sugar, baking powder, salt & nutmeg. Stir in milk.
         Pour batter on butter in casserole; do not stir. Add berries without stirring.
    Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup sugar on berries. Bake in preheated 400 deg.
    oven for 50-55 minutes; batter will rise to form crust. If not adequately browned,
    broil for 1 or 2 minutes. Serves 12.
    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
