Butterscotch Pecan Slices
 

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons margarine
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt on piece of waxed paper.

Beat together the butter, margarine and sugar in bowl until creamy.  Beat in
egg and vanilla until well blended.  Stir in flour mixture and chopped nuts.

Shape the dough into two 11 inch rolls.  Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate
until well chilled.  Cut into 1/4-inch slices.  Bake in 350 degree oven for
10 to 12 minutes.  Cool on wire rack.  Makes about 4 dozen.
