Sour Cream Donuts
3/4 cup sour
1/4 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
and milk; beat until foamy. Gradually add sugar and eggs,
beating until sugar is dissolved. Stir in vanilla and sifted dry ingredients.
Chill for 1 hour. Roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut out doughnuts.
Fry in deep hot fat (365°) until brown on both sides and cooked through.
Drain on paper towels. Makes about 2-1/2 dozen.
