Okay, so here is the list of music I listen to: Hanson, Backstreet Boys, NSync, 98 degrees...what is the common denominator there? Boy bands, you say? Okay, I admit it..I love pop music. I am addicted to sappy love songs sung by hot men. I think everyone has a weakness for something, right? So why is mine so much worse than everyone else's? I am tormented constantly about being a pop music fan. Hey, I will be the first to admit to you that I attended the Hanson concert on August 12th and sat in the 5th row, baby! And that I have pictures of it in my locker. I don't really care what other people listen to. So why should everyone else feel the need to insult me when hearing of the music I listen to. Okay, there are morons *pardon, I am on a roll and later I will regret saying this and I don't mean it* out there who listen to stuff that in continous cussing and screaming. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that..I didn't mean morons. Okay, PEOPLE out there who listen to that kind of music. I may think it's obnoxious, and wonder how people could possibly enjoy it. But, I will not go up to them and insult them personally for their music taste. Unfortunately, it has become socially acceptable to like boy bands (not that I'm saying Hanson is a boy band--but that's another story). Even if someone likes the band, they are afraid to actually admit it. And God forbid a person of the male sex like a poppy band of guys...he must be gay, of course. That makes perfect sense...or something. Please...this is obnoxious. We poppers don't insult other people's music, why should we be constantly harassed about ours? SAVE THE MUSIC people! Just for starters, in case you are one of these people I am talking about, this is not meant to offend you. It's just something that puzzles me.
Okay, so, why do the same girls consistently get the guys? I just don't get it. I'm a perfectly nice girl, not very outgoing but I can talk your ear off if you get to know me. I'm not ugly, stupid, or totally repulsive, at least I hope not. And yet I am 17 and I have had a total of ONE guy ever be interested in me. {and we won't talk about that...agh I am such a retard.} And the same girls, always, who are not particurally special as I see it, are always the ones that the guys go gaga after. What's with that? What makes them so special that they attract guys so quickly? And no matter what I do, say, etc, I can't get anyone to even date me (even lowly underclassmen when I ask them to prom..ahem). It's not that I even especially want to be in a serious relationship, but I would kind of like to know what one is like before I head off to college next year. So I ask the question--WHAT IS IT??? Ok, even though I may have had a few more experiences than Jessie, I am 100% behind her on this one. I, for a fact, know that Jessie is a very cute, talented 17 year old and there is absolutley no reason why there wouldn't be a cute talented 17 or 16 or 15 year old guy interested in her. Although I don't think I am as cute as Jessie, I don't think I am far behind. SO I ask the simple question, WHY? Example: I went to a party last night and I met up with an old friend from elementary school, who happens to be very attractive, and we had a blast for 4 hours. Flirting, dancing, and really really flirting. So when I ask in general conversation, "How ya been?" he says "Pretty good after 5 girlfriends and 4 break ups." After using the small math skills I do possess I discover that since there have been only 4 breakups then he must have a girlfriend. DING DING!! Point for Cynthia! So at the end of the night I get a hug and a "See ya around." What is up with that? Adding on to the some girls get all the guys, also at this party there was this girl who always has a boyfriend. I don't think she is ugly, by all means, but I don't think I am uglier than her either!! And she has dated every decent looking guy I can think of. Okay, when I was 13, I acted like I was 13. Seriously. Right down to those ugly pre-teen stirrup pants and long shirts (okay, so that was the mid-90's "fashion"). And I will tell you this, as long as you promise not to tell anyone, I still played Barbies. But today, these stupid 13 year old girls think they are 17, and they act it too. I think stores have been promoting it..they sell little girl clothes in fashions that are meant for teenagers...I mean, there are little 7 year old girls at church running around in spaghetti strap tank tops. Little girls think they are sooo cool. And they are so busy throwing themselves at the guys who are my age, that they take up ALL the guys time. That's why the guys don't have any time to hang all over me, obviously. Hehe..okay so anyways...PLEASE to all 13 year old girls..YOU ARE NOOOOT 17!! GET OVER IT!!! ~Jessie~
i have some comments on the rant about the 13 year old girls: maybe it's just me, but why is it that it's okay for older girls to be immodest, but that younger girls, say 13 or so, should never wear anything that could be deemed so? don't get me wrong, i can't stand immodesty, in dress or word or mind. i'm just wondering about the hypocrisy. we (well not really we, but the media, the movie stars, the singers) tell people it's okay to start acting a certain way once they hit 17 but if you do so before hand you're wrong. maybe if all of us would clean up our acts, the younger girls wouldn't think it was so great to start acting older than they are. I mean, if i had ever known that i'd get away with half the things i can do now at the age of 13, i'd have wanted to start acting older. perhaps, though, the problem isn't really with the 13 year olds. maybe it's with us, the older ones. maybe, just maybe, if 17 year olds would start taking one some semblance of responsibility and charge of their minds, their thoughts, their actions, and their lives, even if only in small ways, the younger girls would start to understand that their youth is a blessing. it's a time to grow, a time to learn, not a time to be rushed out of by themselves or others, or a combination of both. i think i'm done now. no disrespect meant to anyone who reads this, whether they be 17, 13, or 100. trust me, i've been through the first 2, and i know what it's like. :)
Ok, why do all of these guys keep im'ing me when I am on line? And they all say the same thing..."Huh uh duh, Got a pic?" GET A LIFE!! No, I do not have a pic and even if I did I wouldn't give it to you so you can add it to your collection. And then they act suprised that I dont want to meet them and talk. What the hell? I don't KNOW you!! You could be some loser guy that has no life...that's already obvious...and just wants to find some naive to the world, little innocent girl to mess around with!! Well, to all of you that bug me, you picked the wrong chic!! Leave me alone!! And if I did ever agree to meet you and you tried something, you'd be really sorry!! First of all, who asks a stupid question like this!! Of course every red-blooded, and maybe even blue or green-blooded, American wants to be a millionaire!! Hello!! So, first of all, the show has a stupid title. Secondly, Regis absolutely drives me insane!! Okay, the first question tonight was "What part of Pinocchio's body grew when he told a lie?" Um, okay, DUH. I cannot think of a single person over the age of three who wouldn't know that. Of course the girl knew. And he still has to ask, "Is that your final answer??" And then waits with a dramatic pause....and he does that on every question! Like it isn't enough to have losing some 32,000 bucks on your mind, he's got to add *suspense.* Okay, it's not that I don't like the show, but it just drives me crazy. --Jessie
Ok, here goes a really long spill. I HATE MEN. Ok so maybe that wasn't actually that long. Just kidding. Anyway, I just hate the way guys act. Unless they get down on one knee and plead for you to be their's there is NO GOSH DARN way to tell if they like you. Little innocent me used to think that if they flirted with you and hung out with you all the time and just had their cute little brown eyes light up when they saw you...by some small miracle you would think they would like you. NO! Of course not! GRRRR!! They will just start randomly talking about some girl that they decided to fall madly in love with when they don't even feel comfortable around her, while you innocently sit there thinking that things between the two of you are going slow but steady. I once heard and always believed that going slow was the right thing to do...which it is...don't get me wrong...but we were really starting to get comfortable with each other and then HE mentions CHERYL.
