- After meeting with the community leaders, we help to locate a good
place to dig so that digging is started with picks and shovels.
- As the men are digging, the women and children are busy collecting
sand and stones to use for the concrete. As a result, the entire community is actively involved in the well construction.
- Concrete blocks are then molded to be used for the well lining.
- Blocks are lowered one at a time into the well. Seven blocks make a perfect circle.
- A concrete pad is then poured around the well and a trough constructed to allow any surface water to flow away from the well, thereby preventing contamination.
- A concrete lid is fixed and then the dedication is held to include
speeches, testimonies, dancing, songs, drama, and encouragement from the Word of God.
- The local Builsa officials come to cut the ribbon to open the well
for use. The media also attended. The news was aired on the radio, and video coverage was even shown on national TV!
