for my rose
stranger in the land, named for God's love,
wandered from the mountains, towards the valley.
a gorgeous blossom in the meadow,
colours growing, warm and feeling.
hearts open, grateful and surprised,
healing wounds of journeys past.
soothed by love and lover,
patience, kindness reveal the path.
too soon away, and in the hills,
joy, sadness and regret.
calmed by love, and a heart,
changed by a highland rose.
free to grow in daylight, and
gentle rain of reflection.
the flower shies quickly,
in a sea of eager attention.
brave souls honour fateful visits,
renewing love and life.
purely in the garden,
on their walk towards completion...
