I love this picture. How would you like to have this
dragon fall upon you? Nasty thought, that.
This is one of my favorite pictures. It was through
this one that my personal style of dragons manifested.
I tire greatly of all the images of dragons that are
out there…they might as well be all the same creature.
Now, I know that my dragons are similar in appearance,
but there is more to it than that. I love to draw
dragons, and when I draw dragons, they are, each and
every one of them, subtly different. That is the
allure of my friend's (Preston) dragons…they are as
unique as mine. The thorns on the body are the perfect
complement to the dragon's smooth lines. If you look
very closely (though it is near impossible to see),
there is a nest below her with two hatchlings within.
I like the way that an unfinished piece looks finished
in pencil…one of the strengths of that medium.
