Youth and Adult Program Descriptions

Bushido Kai was formed in 1978 and chartered as a non-profit corporation. The club meets three times a week at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Rd. The club has a solid reputation for producing State, National and International champions. All instructors are volunteers. An elected board, all of which are unpaid, conducts administration of the club. The club is a member of New York State Judo Inc. and Niagara Yudanshikai. Currently there are about 60 members.

Our Philosophy:

At Bushido Kai, we hablieve that there is more to learning Judo than just good techniques. Judo teaches respect, good sportsmanship, discipline and confidence. The study of Judo helps build strong character.

Unlike most sports, parents as well as their children can participate together, and unlike team sports there are no 'cuts'. Everyone in the club is part of the team.
