The Combine which is my guild toiled away in the Fear plane for 11 hours clearing monster after monster to get to the ultimate prize which is Cazic Thule. Well we got that chance at around 4 am in the morning, our goal was at hand and we engaged the god of fear and we were holding our ground and doing quite well against the large god. We only had 4 deaths and had the great god at 5% of his life or less and we get a msg saying to log out now the server world is coming down! We did not get a 15 min warning nor a 5 min warning it was a 5 second warning. We crashed and we got back 30 min later to find out that our efforts to take down Cazic Thule were all wasted.

I petitioned as seeing that 3 GM's were on (even one being level 112), all of whom decided to go anon and there for I could not msg directly. We even tried to contact 7 or 8 of the GM's roaming the chat rooms and from what I can tell none of them gave a damn to even give us a single reply. we waited for 2 hours for a reply back to me and the 30 people who attended and we got nothing, and we all eventually logged. What Verant did is totally inexcusable and what the GM's did to avoid us is totally inexcusable.

We have screenshots and a whole plethora of evidence supporting our claims. And I want to know what Verant is willing to do about this. Are you going to sit on your butts and let this kind of crap go and let your customers time on your game go to waste or are you going to do something about it? Do you think that our time on your game is a joke Verant? I would like to know.

I'll be happy to offer an offical explanation. It won't make you any happier, nor does it make us any happier. I do apologize for it, but it was unavoidable.

Essentially, late last night a major router went down in the San Fransisco area. Since this router handles a LOT of traffic (not just EQ traffic) it resulted in some serious network problems that forced us to do some quick emergency maintenence.

Believe me, we weren't sitting around with nothing to do late at night except reboot servers and catch flack for it. Sometimes this type of thing just happens.

It also happened after most of our GM's had left for the evening. Again, we can't control the timing of some things.

I do want to apologize for this happening.
