Nothing in EverQuest is 100%, not even a Gate Potion. It’s not meant to be.
>>>2) Increase Bash Skill cap. Most say to 200.
200 would make them equal to warriors in that respect. Paladins and Shadowknights give up some of the combat prowess of warriors in exchange for spells.
>>>3) Improve Armor Class and remove the High Level Armor Class cap.
Again, see the comment about warriors.
>>> 4) Improve melee damage to be comparable to other Hybrids.
They are better than bards, and equal with rangers in 1HS and 2HS.
>>>5) Increase Increase defense, parry, dodge, and ripoiste skill caps.
See comments about warriors
>>>6) Increase Taunt skill cap.
See comments about warriors
>>>7) Improve and/or implement better weapons.
You have a point. It’s being done.
>>>8) Implement Better shileds w/ procs when bashing.
Don’t know about shields Proc’ing, but I suppose anything is possible.
>>>9) Improve our quest and make the reward worthy of the quest.
Which quest?
>>>10) Remove Disarm or increase skill so it is usable.
This is probably as good as Disarm is going to get.
Now, having said all of that, I want to stress that we don’t go around making sweeping balance changes on a “would be nice” basis. I’m sure every class out there can come up with 10 or 20 things they would like changed about their class. Hey, we can too. But the question is, why? What is it that SKs and Paladin’s can’t do that they should be able to? Most of their combat caps are the same as warriors. They are every bit as good with a sword as a warrior. They aren’t going to get Dual Wield, nor the hitpoints of a warrior, however they do get spells. If the spells that you get aren’t worth what you lose by virtue of hitpoints and a few combat skills, then you can choose not to play a Paladin or an SK.
Yes, I’m sure that everyone would be happy if we went and made these changes above, for about 2 weeks until warriors and rogues figure that they are getting the raw end of the deal. So tell me, what is the compelling reason to change all of these things?

Are you saying that a level 50 paladin with maxed skills does less sword damage than a level 50 ranger with maxed skills wielding an identical weapon? The numbers don't seem to support that, but please let me know if it's the case. The caps are the same according to where I was looking.

Can anyone confirm this?
I'll also doublecheck the caps tomorrow when the keeper o' the caps is in. It's possible that I'm reading the info from the wrong location. However, assuming I'm not, two characters with the same stats and skills wielding the same weapon at the same level *should* do roughly the same damage.
Now if that's not the case here, please follow-up.
