Just to keep everyone moving in a fruitful direction, I thought I'd lay out a few ground rules on what can or cannot be done.

1. The reduction in spell damage for PvP won't be going away. Any spell that damages an NPC is devastating to a PC, and spells have to be effective against both. If this makes it hard to kill someone, that's the point.

2. No one will ever get experience for killing a PC.

3. No changes will be made that make the PvE (Player versus Environment) aspect of the game easier.

4. There will be other things as we discuss this stuff that just won't be feasible. An example of this would be a suggestion I saw where someone said that melee players should be able to mark specific items as NODROP. When I see suggestions like that I'll let you know so that you can be freed up to debate some of the feasible issues.

Thanks,

-Gordon

>>>One question, are bind posts infeasible? I do not mean bind posts in a sense of "Mr. Warrior touches the post and is bound to the area", but more like "Mr. Barbarian Warrior stands next to the bind post in The Feerott where Mr. Caster binds him to the area (so he doesn't have to run from Freeport every time he dies in Cazic Thule)"

Opening up additional bind-points to melee types on the PvP servers wouldn’t happen. The PvE implications are too great. People would then start playing on PvP just for the ability to bind anywhere rather than for the PvP aspect of the game.

The goal here is to leave the PvE aspect of the game untouched, or nearly untouched, with the added ability of PvP.
