I realize from a recent patch text that something was done to Levitate to prevent people from "chain-casting" which let them reach areas that should have been inaccessible. However, the spell is now impossible to keep active indefinitely. Since all other buff/effect spells seem to be able to be "refreshed" by re-casting when the icon starts to flash, I don't see why Levitate should be any different. Right now when you re-cast, you burn mana and the spell component, but get NO EFFECT. The icon keeps blinking and the effect wears off in a few seconds.Levitate is very handy for crossing certain terrain, like Ocean or other large bodies of water, where it is very difficult to set down and re-cast. I would think that disabling the ability to re-energize this spell is not significantly different from a code standpoint than simply checking to see if the spell is already active, and simply not allowing the "altitude" to increase if it is. My understanding is that the programmers are working on a way to attach a recast delay to activatable items. There is one item in game that allowed the chain-casting of levitate thus allowing people to get to areas they shouldn't. Like I said, we're still working on this, I'll see how it's going on Monday. -Gordon

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Indeed, the "no refresh" changes to levitate were indeed a stopgap measure (that we should have informed people about when it was put in). The recast delay for activatable items and the removal of that stopgap measure have taken place in our development environment, and should be live on the Test server soon. -Gordon
