This bar
is a pure cruiser bar. Expect to meet men here who want to meet you. Located
in the Heritage House Hotel, this bar is not designed for a person to stop
in for a quiet drink. This bar welcomes the gay male who wants to meet
people. Enough said
THE DUFFERIN

The Dufferin is a cross between a tavern and a go-go dance bar. Entering
the doors, you will find an average tavern with a big screen TV and a small
dance floor. Going further inside you will notice predominantly male customers
but females, lesbians and straight men can also be found here. Upon further
inspection you may notice the occasional patron proceeding down the stairs.
If you muster the courage to go for a peek, you may notice a group of men
playing pool, pinball or just hanging out. Look left and if you are there
on the right night such as Saturday you will find a fully nude male go-go
dancer. This is by far the coolest of all the bars catering specifically
to this lifestyle when you can find a straight woman, a pre-op transexual
prostitute, and a leather manumitting at the bar beside you. Everyone with
an open mind is welcome.
HERITAGE HOUSE HOTEL PUB

The main
pub in this hotel is very charming. Surrounding you in wood and books,
this place feels like an Olde English Pub. Everyone is welcome to sit down
and enjoy the comfort of a great chair and a nice drink. Located in the
midst of the downtown area south of Gastown, the location does not do the
pub justice. Try it during the day but be careful at night.
THE LOTUS CLUB

This club
is the only club in the city exclusively for Lesbians. If you are
not female, do not even try to get past their sizable bouncers. For the
female you will find pool tables, dancing and a place to meet other women.
Special note to the Fetishist in you is the once a month Fetish Night put on by the Body Perve Social Club. On the last Saturday of every month you can experience the leather and latex side of Vancouver. It costs $10 but you can get passes from various stores around the city who serve this crowd. The club opens at 10 pm and the line-up grows quickly. This event is for men and women, genitals are to remain covered but women can be topless. Expect the occasional performance which can include fire, spanking and people in various costumes.
THE RED LIGHT

to the Vancouver area is the recently renovated Cobalt, now called
The Red Light. Cover is $2 during the day and $5 during the evening. Fenced
pay parking with an attendant present at all times and free for HOG's.
Expect to find Fetish performances every half hour during the day with
the evening having more elaborate shows. 6 female house dancers perform
various acts involving whips, chains and leather. B and D, S and M, and
any other letters you can think up are in the vocabulary of this club.
Respect for the performers and the clientele are priority here as they
burst through societal barriers. Private dances are available for $10 or
$15 in a specially prepared room. Expect a monthly fetish party, weekly
bands and special appearances including Captain Fetish Boy. Yes, in the
evening there may be women AND men performing. This club is for anybody
with an open mind who is willing to leave racism, sexism and phobias at
the door. Bad behavior will not be tolerated but naughty behavior by the
performers is encouraged. This is the place if you like good service
with a slap.
THE ROYAL HOTEL

This tavern is very large and
welcomes everyone. Pool tables, plastic darts and the games await the patron.
Service is excellent and live bands perform weekly.
