You set off for the ruined castle, hoping that the x on the map is an indication that there is treasure or something else well worth seeking there. The weather is lovely and warm, with a soft breeze which ruffles your hair as you walk.
This part of the country has a few farms, but is mostly heavy oak and linden forest. By mid-morning you are travelling on a cobbled road overshadowed by trees growing in close on both sides and forming a thick canopy overhead. You miss the warmth of the sun, and pull your cloak on.
The forest gets darker and wilder as you continue along. Night is going to fall soon, and you begin to search for a place to camp. You have been heading down hill for a while now, and the ground is starting to be damp and squishy.
You decide to backtrack a little bit until you're on dry ground and then make camp
