Marc Danzeisen

Marc Danzeisen first came to the rock world's attention in 1990 as the drummer for the Riverdogs, joining the band just after the release of their self titled debut. He toured with the band during this period appearing on the much sought after live bootleg cd "Pervasive Influences".

After leaving the Riverdogs, Marc joined Badlands, the band formed by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee. He was in the band for a WHOLE WEEK !!!!

It was around this time that Marc got a call from Little Caesar frontman Ron Young saying "Geffen (the record company) is going to send us to Europe for three weeks then drop us. Do you want a paid vacation with no future?" Who could resist such a great offer? Marc said "Yes" right away !!

Little Caesar broke up four months later.

After taking some time off, Marc joined a band with Roger Manning and Eric Dover formerly of Jellyfish. During this time, he got a call from Gilby Clarke (former Guns N Roses guitarist) asking if he'd like to play drums & sing harmonies on his first solo album "Pawnshop Guitars" So Marc asked a friend to fill in for him with Roger & Eric. That band would later become Imperial Drag.

So now Marc joins up with Gilby.....

...MARC FINALLY GETS TO RECORD WITH A BAND !!!!..

Marc recorded & toured with Gilby Clarke for two years, including a month long gig as the opening act for Aerosmith in South America.... a gig that Marc describes as "Pure Heaven"

After Gilby, Marc decided to spend some time away from the rock world with his wife and little boy.

Then it was time for Marc to take the spotlight in his own band. He says:

"I went into Vivians (Campbell's) recording studio at his house, shut the door behind me and did a record by myself. Viv was out with LEPPARD and said do what you want, here's the key. I recorded 12 songs in 2 months playing all the instruments, engineering and producing (pulling my hair out)"

The band would become known as Powerslide and the CD would be called "Peel". Marc would eventually put a full band together, with him fronting the band and playing guitar. The CD would sell about 1200 coppies through the internet and at their shows. He describes the music on the CD as "power pop" and lists his influences as Cheap Trick, the Beatles, the Foo Fighters, the Posies, and AC/DC.

Marc broke up Powerslide about a year ago out of frustration. Since he is known in the rock world as a drummer, none of the record labels would take him seriously as a frontman/guitarist.

Marc is currently doing production work, working on a new solo cd, and is drumming in the house band for the new Comedy Central variety/game show "Don't Forget Your Toothbrush".

Marc had this to say of his former Riverdogs bandmate Rob Lamothe:

"I had a great time jamming with Rob a few months ago, He's one of the greatest singers in the world, I still get chills when I hear him. Such soul!"
