Wilderness Survival
Here are the Key essentials to survive in the Wilderness
- Keep your head, The vast Majority of People that Die In the Wilderness Lose there minds. Number one thing Is sit down and calm down. DONT let your imagination get the best of you.
- Dont run, No matter what. If a animal is chasing you run only far enough to Climb a tree. Otherwise stand your ground. Only thing running will accomplish is a broken limb or lost eye.
- Find a good location for a camp. caves or natural Shelters are the best you can modify from there.
- Do not camp to close to a creek, I know it seems comfortable. but if someone is looknig for you eather hunting or saving, it will be harder to hear them. I suggest camping minimum 100 ft. from creek
- If your being hunted. Pick a location that offers you a veiw of your surrounding area but where you are concealed. also pick a escape route for every situation
- Build a small fire with good dry wood. Big fires dont do anything at all but make you feel good. little ones let you cook and get close.; also dry wood is essential to avoid smoke.
- If you need to be spotted throw some green pine bows on your fire.
- Dont be afraid of Bears and Cougars, Ive spent my life Hunting Camping and Trapping in the woods and never had a serious confrontation with any animal
- Essential Items to carry with you are ; Gun, ammo, Knife, Hatchet, Matches, Xtra set of Dry clothes, Especially socks, whistle, Canteen, fishing hooks, and Rope or Twine.
- I consider the Knife to be the most vital of all tools to have along. You can make other weopons, Defend yourself build structures or damned near anything with a good medium sized knife.
- Look behind you every couple of minuetes. Terrain looks different one way than it does the other.
- Try to follow game trails. Trecking straight thru the woods can be damned near impossible in most areas.
- Pine bowes make a good Blanket and Water repelent.
- Do not even bother to try traveling at night. Its way darker in the Wild than it is even in the outskirts of Town, and you do not want to risk getting hurt. even if you have a good light it can get broke then your screwed.
