-Piccolo-
Piccolo is the reason I became addicted to DBZ. I saw him on a commercial
on Cartoon Network. Of course then I didn't know a thing about him and just figured he was an evil dude (hey I ALWAYS go for the evil guys!)
His Voice, eyes, sharp fanged teeth and claws all point to one evil dude *g*
Annnnyway, turns out he's not really evil, just really intelligent and since he grew up caring for only himself, he doesn't really give a care about anyone other than himself.
Piccolo was pure evil at one point, well, rather, his dad was. He was pretty much like his father for awhile too.
It's complicated, but there was one only Namek originally, named Kami-sama.
He wanted to purge all the evil from within himself, and did so, however, you can't slam one door without opening another, and all that evil
went out and formed a second half to Kami, that is Piccolo's father, super evil, an yucky, bad bad bad ~nods~
Piccolo is Goku's old rival. He was hatched
after a very young Goku killed his
father; in his last breath the old pure evil Piccolo spat
out an egg, and the new Piccolo hatched. Piccolo then went on to
fight Goku, only to lose. They join forces in "Arrival" to battle Goku's creepy big brother (Raddish boy...erm..."Radditz").
Then Piccolo ends up taking Gohan away with him to give him some heavy duty training before Vegitta and the big goofy guy (Napa) arrive.
The uncaring mean Piccolo is changed by Gohan, and ends up being friends with him, (Gohan idolizes Piccolo, he invited him to his Birthday party even....
although he took it all back when Piccolo threw him off a mountain, he called Piccolo a Big Jerk and felt much better, ahem anyway...Piccolo
jumps in front of an attack ment for Gohan and slowly dies....er, goes to "another dimension" or as Vegita seems to say, another 'DIEmension'
Piccolo is a native of the planet Nameck, although he doesn't learn
this for quite some time. As a Nameck,
he can regenerate almost any part of his body lost. (usually the
arms) He can also extend the range of his arms till they're really
long {it looks super creepy}. He only drinks water, and considers the earthling's need for food as a weakness.
Later, he's wished to Nameck to help Kurillin, Goku, Gohan, and
Vegita fight Freiza. On the way to the battle Field he sees Nail {A Namek who looks just like him, but just not as kewl ~l~}
Nameks have this keen little ablilty tu fuse with each other, and they did, creating a super powerful Piccolo.
While fighting alongside Kurillin and Gohan in the Siayan Saga,
Piccolo eventually becomes Goku's friend. When Frieza tries to kill him on Namek, it really enrages Goku.
Once Piccy is back on earth, I don't think the series ever showed him and Nail separating. Nail pretty much remained as Piccy's "good side".
And also to, when Piccy retuned to earth,, he went back to his old ways, meditating and training.
He holds his own in a fight really well and is one of thee strongest of the Z fighters.
