Chapter 15- The News
It was bright and early the next day when Teresa felt a tap at her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see Scott standing in front of her.
“Hey!” he said
“Hi.” She said
“Is everyone at the house?” he asked
“Yeah well almost everyone.” She said
“Who’s here?” he asked
“Me, A.j., Nicole, Nick, Shannon, and Abs, everyone else is at the house.” She said
“So what’s happening with everyone?” he said
“Well, Brian and Amber showed up here together, and then Brian and Amber are going out. Shannon and Abs are going out, and Abs and Amber are still best friends. Shannon and Brian are still friends.” Said Teresa “Also, J has a few broken ribs, I have a few broken robs, and a broken arm, Andy as a broken ankle, Abs has some stitches in his head, and broken arm. Umm… Shannon has some broken ribs, and stitches in her head, and you look to have a broken arm, and stitches above your eyebrow.” Said Teresa
“Well, thank you doctor.” Said Scott
“Your welcome!” said Teresa
~ 3 days later ~
“You said she was doing fine and now you don’t know.” Said Teresa Teresa, A.J., Scott, Nicole, Nick, Shannon, and Abs were all in a meeting with the doctor.
“Well, we thought so, but then something came up and know we don’t know.” He said
“Well, why don’t you start finding out.” Said A.j. pounding his fist on the table
“We are doing the best we can.” Said the doctor
“Well, your best isn’t good enough.” Said Scott
“If you don’t like how we are doing things here then why don’t you just take her out of this hospital and into another one?’ screamed the doctor
“Well, I would but she cant be moved you asshole.” Screamed Teresa
“I think we all just need to calm down here.” Said Nicole
“I am having a doctor I know bought in here, since you people can’t seem to be doing your job.” Screamed Teresa
“Calm down Teresa.” Said Abs
“Stay out of it.” Teresa snapped back
“I think you should call doctor Jantsch.” Said Nicole
“I will.” Said Teresa as she stormed out the room and to the pay phone The next day doctor Jantsch came in and looked at Courtney.
“Can we speak privately?” he said to Teresa
“Oh whatever you have to say you can say in front of them.” Said Teresa
“Well, Courtney has hepatitis,” said Dr. Erickson
“What?” said Teresa
“You didn’t know?” said the doctor
“NO.” said Teresa as A.J. out his hand on her shoulder
“How could she have gotten that?” asked J
“Well there is a number of ways, Low socioeconomic level, blood born, sexual but we wont count that, the mother could have had it, a lot of other ways.” Said the doc
“Can you get rid of it?” asked Shannon
“If we find a blood match.” Said the doctor
“Well, what if you don’t?” said Teresa
“Then I am afraid she will die, if the other treatments don’t work.” Said doctor Erickson
~ The next day ~
The message was out that they needed blood and if anyone would like to donate blood to come down to the hospital. Long lines of people were their going threw test first to see if they could donate blood. Next, they went to go see if there’s matched.
“Did you find a match yet?” asked Nicole
“No, I am sorry to say we didn’t but we’ll keep looking.” Said the doctor,
“Why don’t we try J, and the rest of them?” asked Dr. Erickson
“That’s fine with me if they will do it.” Said Teresa J, Andy, Scott, Dawn, Sean, Michelle, Amber, Abs, Shannon, Nicole, Nick, Kevin, Howie, Jess, Katie, Brian, Ritchie, Terri, A.J., and all three of the managers took a blood test that day.
It was about 8:35 later that night when the blood test came back.
“So…” Said Teresa
“We found a match!” said Dr. Erickson Teresa and the rest of them were relieved.
“So who matched?’ asked Terri
“Um…” said the doctor looking at his clipboard. Then finally he said
“Scott did.” He finished
Everyone just dropped their mouth and looked back and forth at Teresa and Scott. Teresa ran out the room, along with Shannon behind her, and Scott just stood there with his mouth still open and in total shock.
