Heavenly Promises- Chapter 5

CHAPTER 5

They all followed him into the warehouse. Most of the employees were busy working. Although he sent one of them to attend the ticket booth, while he attended these 10 customers.

"Can we all go on one balloon?" Sean suddenly asked.

"I'm sorry sir, we have a strict policy of only 2people per balloon, let me show the wide selection of colors we have available", the big burly man replied as he led the way to where all the hot air balloons were stored.

"Would you excuse us for a few minutes", Ritchie asked the big burly man.

"Yes, of coarse," he replied.

Ritchie signaled the group to the corner of the warehouse, which was only about 5 feet away. "Because of the two per person rule, how are we going to pair ourselves off?" Ritchie asked after a succinct moment. They all looked at each other one by one. Hayley had an idea.

Breaking the silence, Hayley spoke up, feeling quite unsure of herself, "I have a possible solution that MIGHT work!"

"What is it?" asked half of the group.

"I don't think it's good enough", replied Hayley. "C mon, Hayley, just give it a shot, who knows, you'll probably be right, and that idea might just be what we need now............", Heidi urged her friend to speak up.

"Yeah Hayley, you've gotta try", said Scott smiling.

"Okay then, why don't we put half of our names in J's cap, or in a bag, and randomly draw our partner's name.", Hayley said confidently.

"That's a great idea!!!!", said Ritchie.

"Yeah, why didn’t I think of it?", said Nancy.

"Plus, whoever doesn't get to draw a name, can choose a color!!", suggested Amira.

"Yeah, I like THAT idea!!!", said Scott.

"Ok, lets get started, Maya you have paper and a pen, right?", asked J.

"Yeah, i'll get it out", said Maya as she took out her dailyplanner/phone-adress book-notes combo, and her new gel pen. Maya then ripped out a sheet paper, from her combo and tore it into 5 pieces.

"Do you think it will be ok if we pick, and you guys choose the color"? asked Abs indicated the guys of 5.

"Any objections?", asked Heidi. No one replied.

"I'll take that as a no", said Nancy. Maya wrote all the 5iveguys' names on the papers. Then she put them in J's cap, which he recently handed to her.

Sean went first, "I got Hayley?!?!", he said happily.........

Abs went next. He picked up his piece of paper, and opened it nervously, yet excitedly. He looked up at Nancy and said "Sam, I got you!!!"

"OH!!!!", she replied smiling. Ritchie was next, he took the paper and opened it, with suspense.

J was standing next to him. He read the paper. "Guess what Maya? You got Ritchie!!!!!", J said enthusiastically.

Scott went next. He opened it, and said "I got the girl whose stuck in the past...........After a long pause he said Amira!!!!".

"It's in style now" Amira replied to Scott's joke!

Heidi and J were staring at each other thinking the same thing. After a moment of silence, "I don't even need to pick, I KNOW I got you!!!!", J said glaring at Heidi.

"You GOT me?!?!" Heidi asked hypothetically.

J just looked at her with cold sarcasm, and replied "You know what I mean!!!"

"Now can we go and get on with the whole hot air balloon process", asked Sean.

"Yeah, lets go", said Amira. They all headed back to the big burly man.

"Good you back!!!, I guess your all paired up now, and I suggest you tell me what balloon you want", the big burly man said.

The couples spoke amongst themselves for a brief moment. Than they told the big burly man the color they want, as he noted it down.

Nancy and Abs stated that they want the metallic silver one. Maya and Ritchie stated shadow blue. Hayley and Sean stated green. Amira and Scott stated the fiery red one. J and Hied stated the golden-yellow one.

The big burly man sent a few of his employees to fix up the hot air balloons and put them in the big lot. The big burly man than went over some safety tips and information they should know about hot air balloons.

Within 4 minutes, all the hot air balloons were ready. The couples were escorted to the lot . Once they went in the hot air balloons, the big burly man loosened the rope. Soon they were off the ground. They were slowly raising higher and higher by the second.
