Heaven In Your Eyes- Chapters 9-10

PART NINE

Later that evening, we were all in my kitchen making spaghetti. Coral wa grating parmesan cheese, Brian was making the sauce, Nick was making garlic bread, and I was tossing a caesar salad.

"Hey, Caits, I've gotta go get more parsley from the garden, you wanna keep stirring this?" Brian asked me.

"Sure, this salad is as good as done," I replied, moving over to the stove and taking the spoon from Brian.

"Back in a few," Brian reached for the door.

"Wait! I'm coming! Coral smiled devilishly and scampered out the door after him.

"Well," Nick came up behind me and put his arms around my wait, "We're alone again....." he kissed my cheek.

I smiled, "Dude, you are TOO horny!"

"And you're saying there's anything wrong with that?" Nick grinned and squeezed my sides, tickling me. This caused me to squeal loudly, and, to my horror, the spoon I had been stirring the sauce with flew up and hit Nick in the face, splattering spaghetti sauce on his face. "Girl, you are BEYOND dead!"

Nick picked up a handful of noodles, grabbed my shirt, and dropped them down my back.

"EW! Slimy, ew, gross!!" I picked up a handful of cheese and hurled it at Nick.

"Hey!" Coral appeared at the door, "What the hell is going on in he-" she screamed and ducked to avoid the spoonful of spaghetti sauce being thrown at her by Nick. Unfortunately for her, half of it splattered on the wall behind her, and the other half landed on her head. "You bastard! You got spaghetti sauce in my HAIR!! Now you must DIE!" Coral screamed as she ran over to the counter.

Trying desperately to avoid her, Nick ran over to the back door so he could escape, if need be. Coral picked up the block of cheese she had been grating and attempted to throw it at Nick. The second it was about to hit him, he ducked out to the way, and Brian came in the door behind him.

"DUCK!" Coral yelled.

But it was too late. The cheese hit Brian right in the forehead and fell on the floor. Nick, meanwhile, was laughing so hard I was afraid he might hurt something. Since he wasn't paying attention, I picked up some noodles, and rubbed some sauce on them, still anxious to get him back for the ones he put down my back. I ran over to him, and, in an attempt to get him back better than he got me in the first place, put them down his pants. Coral was scurrying around, trying to avoid Brian, who was attempting to sprinkle cheese on her head, while she threw sauce at him. Suddenly realizing how stupid we looked, I stood there and laughed hysterically. We were all basically covered from head to toe with spaghetti sauce, especially Nick. The white walls of my kitchen were covered in splatters of red, and there were noodles everywhere. Everyone else stopped and joined in laughing.

"This is so retarded!" Coral gasped.

"But it was fun! Look at us, we're filthy!" I gestured around the room, "So much for dinner!"

"Let's go get cleaned up, Bri. Caits, you and Nick stay and clean up here." Coral suggested.

"No complaints!.....I think I might need a shower," Brian wiggled his eyebrows.

"I am SO there, babe!" Coral agreed, running upstairs after him.

"Alone again....." Nick began.

"Oh, no you don't, that's how this whole thing started!" I cut him off.

"You look cute covered in food!" Nick leaned in and kissed me, "Mmmm..Brian's famous tomato sauce!"

I sat up on the counter and Nick picked up my hand in his. He kissed my fingers softly, getting all the spaghetti sauce off of them, too.

"You have some right on the tip of your nose!" I giggled and wiped it off with my finger, popping it in my mouth (Author's note: the finger, not the nose!!), "Mmm...It IS good!' I kissed him and he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

Meanwhile, Coral and Brian were in the bathroom attempting to clean themselves up.

"So, you want me to lick it off or are you gonna wipe it off?" Coral laughed.

"Well....You could lick it off....but...."Brian was cut off by Coral.

"Okay!" She picked up his hand and licked it.

"Down, girl! Good doggie!" brian teased her, "I was about to say, I have a better idea!" he gestured to the shower.

"Sounds good to me!" In a matter of seconds, there was a pile of clothes on the floor and both Coral and Brian were standing under the hot stream of water.

"Oh yeah," Brian smiled and kissed Coral.

About an hour later when the kitchen was FINALLY cleaned up, Nick and I lay on my couch. Just as I leaned in to kiss him again, Coral and Brian walked in.

"Hey!" Coral smiled brightly, "What are we gonna do NOW?"

Brian glanced over at us, my lips inches from Nick's, "Oh, god, not again!!"

I gave Nick a quick peck, then turned to Coral, "How 'bout a movie?"

"Sounds good. Ooh, popcorn for dinner! Yummy!" Coral exclaimed.

"Yeah, ok." Brian agreed.

"Whose car are we taking?" Nick asked.

"MINE!" Coral yelled.

"We always take yours!" Brian groaned.

"And is there anything wrong with that?" Coral faced him with her hands on her hips.

"Uh....no......"Brian quickly grabbed the keys, "As long as I can drive!"

Half an hour later, we met Howie, Kevin, AJ, and Sheena in front of the movie theatre. After many arguments, we decided on a movie, based on the fact that we usually ended up not watching much of it anywayz. Once inside, the guys went to get snacks while Coral, Sheena and I saved seats.

"So," Coral turned to Sheena, "AJ's told us lots about you!"

"He has?" Sheena's face lit up.

"Oh, yeah." I agreed, "He's a great guy!"

The three of us chatted, mainly girltalk, for quite some time. Stealing a glance at my watch, I noticed the guys had been gone for almost 15 minutes, and the movie was about to start.

"I'll go see what's taking so long," I sighed and climbed out of my seat. I had taken maybe two steps when the guys came back in, "There you are! What took so long?"

"Nick will explain!" Kevin exclaimed as Howie rolled his eyes.

"Well, you see," Nick began, "They didn't have Jelly Tots, and I know those are your faves. So I was trying to decide what else to get, and I couldn't, so I asked and they went and opened a new box in the back for me."

"That's sooooooo sweet!" I gushed, kissing him on the cheek.

"Man, you two are sick!" Howie complained.

"Well, Sweet D, that's only cuz you're single!" Brian laughed.

The movie was horrible. Not even halfway through we all began to get restless. The seating plan was as follows: Coral and Brian were heavily making out the furthest down the aisle. Next to them, Sheena was intent on eating her gummy bears colour by colour (which, by the way, is EXTREMELY hard to do in the dark), and making sure they didn't run away, and AJ was reading the ingredients on the back of the candy package, grossing us out with all the weird sounding stuff. On the end, Howie, Kevin, Nick, and I were pegging people with Coral's glosette peanuts, since she was too busy to be eating them. Not surprisingly, as we were doing so, a theatre employee came up and tapped me on the shoulder.

"Excuse me," he said meanly, "But I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Disruptive behavior is not tolerated here. Don't come back until you feel you are able to behave properly."

As soon as we got out the door, we burst into laughter.

"Geez, what was his problem?" Sheena asked.

"Oh, nothing. Except for the minor detail that he's got a pole rammed so far up his ass he can pick up radio signals through his ears!" Coral grinned mischieviously. (Author's Note: This is an ACTUAL real-life Coral quote!!)

"Well, I think that's enough troublemaking tonight!" I joked.

"Why, what else have you done?" AJ asked.

"Oh, didn't we tell you? We had a MASSIVE food fight!" Brian spoke up, telling AJ about the mess we had made.

"Well," Coral yawned, "It's been fun, but I think we better go.....I'm tired, and Bri is, too, we should prolly go to bed...."

"Sure," everyone rolled their eyes in unison.

"Guess that means we're leaving, too," Nick put his arm around my shoulder, "Bye, guys!"

"See ya guys!" I waved.

After Coral dropped Nick and I off at my house, we lay on the couch watching tv, as usual. I wasn't really paying attention, however, my mind was fucussed on other things, and I was deep in thought.

"Nick?" I finally spoke up, thinking how absolutely perfect everything was, "I-I love you."

He gave me this look that simply made me melt, and took my hand, entwining my fingers with his. Softly, our lips met in a sweet kiss.

"I love you, too," he replied when we pulled away, "And I've known it for awhile."

"I know. Nick, I want to always be with you. Now, when we're old, even in heaven." I confided in him.

"Well, whenever I'm with you, I see heaven in your eyes," nick traced his finger along my cheek, sending chills up my spine.

A tear escaped from my eye, and ran down my cheek onto his finger, "You are the sweetest guy ever," I whispered, "I don't deserve it."

Nick wrapped his arms around me and help me close as I buried my face in his shirt, "Yes you do, yes you do."
