Topic: Recovery
I did it! I got the surgery on Tuesday, July 12, and I stayed in the hospital until Saturday. Which, might I say, was not pleasant!
First of all, the Hospital food was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!:( I think that that is the reason why I repeatedly got sick to my stomach, which hurt a lot.
Second of all, I couldn't get a good night's sleep, thanks to the nurses! As a result, I am always really tired. Which, is I guess good if I want to sleep through the pain, and that is always nice.
Still, I am really glad that I got the surgery done, I mean, it is totally worth it- my chest is completely normal now! Yep, no more fun creeping my brother out, no more putting tennis balls and oranges in there, no more putting water in there...oh well.
Lately I have been experiencing really bad itching at my incision are, on my sides. It is getting really, red and it looks really strange. Calamine lotion seems to help a little, but only for about an hour or so.I think I will contact my doc for that...

I'm a fitness trainer and I also suffer from Pectus.  I actually just wrote an article on how to exercise with pectus here:

http://befitpersonaltraining.blogspot.com/2009/05/exercising-and-pectus-excavatum-how-to.html

This is obviously for someone whom doesn't have the money for a Nuss/Ravitch or just wants to improve their overall appearance.

As a kid I was diagnosed with moderate PE. I'm now 35, and intend to correct my Pectus excavatum without surgery. I've already made significant improvement. View photos here: http://pectuscorrectus.blogspot.com/
