Book the Band for your Engagement
- Marxmen Youth Band -

The Marxmen Youth Band can take their place in your Carnival Procession or similar event. Their performance will rise as the number and density of the spectators rises. They will spread themselves to fill the road width, where they can, and will conduct any special
instructions that you may give (like stopping in front of the Mayor and Mayoress to play a fanfare for a presentation).
At those times when the procession inevitably halts, they will "take on water" and then give an in-situ performance of “Crazy Little Thing” or similar to the adjacent spectators. When the procession starts to move again they will immediately fall in and get on with the business of the day.
They can also present a 10 to 15 minute arena display of their current show or maybe a demonstration of drill with music to enlighten the younger spectators of the disciplines and
team work that are required within a band.
The Marxmen will be accompanied by no less than 4 escorts who will look after the members. They will carry drinking water and will attend to any band member that falls from the rank. One escort will remain at the rear of the band to maintain the optimum distance of the juggernaut or Carnival Queen that is immediately behind.
All of this for a modest fee which will go into the Marxmen’s fund for taking part in competitions, plus the fee to cover the coach hire for the day's engagement. The Marxmen would also like to “pencil in” an invitation to return the following year.
There are many other types of engagements that the band have undertaken over the years. Should you have any special requests then please contact us as above. The band has been present for the opening of new water and sewerage works, have given a guard of honour at weddings, taken the lead at armistice day processions and played fanfares to new babies arriving home for the first time.
