My name is Jose Ricardo Luyando Collazo. I was born on December 7, 1987.
I first joined the band a casual betrayal in early July of 2005.
As a high school student I always wanted to be the lead singer of a band.
Even in junior high I dreamed for this opportunity. Now that I’ve finally
accomplished
this dream, I have to admit it’s a very heart-warming experience.
Being in this band is my passion. It gives me a reason in live. Finally, my
lyrical
meaning will serve purpose to someone out there. When times are difficult, music
is a
cure to a dreary day.
My main influences come from three of my favorite singers: Brian Fair
(Shadow's
Fall), Buddy (Senses Fail) and Dustin Kenshrue (Thrice). Each and every
day these artists
serve a purpose to me. They are my leading influences, and most of all,
the reason I strive
for a better future as the lead singer of a band.
I research these artists and their lyrics because their lyrics mean something
to me.
They "open new doors" to whole new experiences for my own talent. Of
course, some
lyrics are just reckless. But behind the recklessness, there is still a sort of
power behind
their voices. Regardless, all of them mean something, and I admire the
songs that are
meaningful.
Some say that I'm a "good" singer. For a person who hasn't taken
lessons, I'm okay...
but I still think I suck. People say my lyrics and the way they flow are
amazing, but I also think
they suck. I listen to all of the very talented bands I love each and
every day and aim for a goal
that is to be as creative as they are, so I try to keep up with writing my songs
as much as possible.
I love everyone in his band. This is definitely a challenge for me,
though a very enjoyable
one. I most certainly can't predict the future of this band, but making
music hat excites my senses
as well as opens the minds of people is all I want. Music is to be
universal. Music is life.
