Westlife Buy Own Jet, price: £4million Obvious Is Out, Run To The Stores And Gram 'Em!

Westlife have forked out £4million on a private jet.
The Irish boy band, who had a hit with Flying Without Wings, are sick of chartering planes to travel around the world and will split the cost of the aircraft.
The lads Bryan McFadden, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, are each chipping in £800,000 for the Gulfstream III.
They have insisted the plane — built in the Eighties — be given a full overhaul and safety checks before they take delivery.
It will also have the latest equipment installed, including state-of-the-art seats with built-in plasma screens, DVD player and game consoles PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
There will also be a small but well-equipped music studio built at the back of the jet. The outside of the plane will be repainted with the Westlife logo.
A pal of the band told me: "It sounds like a lavish gesture but it makes sense. Even when they’re not working, they tend to be flying somewhere every week. They’re always back and forth between Dublin and London. But when things are busy or they’re on tour, they are flying all over the world. Now they’ll have their own plane ready to go wherever and whenever they need it."
The Gulfstream III will be based at Dublin airport, with the band members and their partners getting equal access.
When not in use, the jet — which has a range of 3,500 miles, a top speed of 529mph and can cruise at 45,000ft — will be rented out to recoup some of the cost. The lads, who released their new single Obvious yesterday, have agreed to keep the plane on should the band split.
The pal said: "If any of them pursue solo careers or just want to go on holiday, it will still be there for them."
In the past Westlife’s record label BMG chartered planes for the band, the cost of which came out of their profits.
