A Detroit-based band consisting of the brother and sister duo Jack and Meg White!
I discovered the White Stripes together with other great bands such as The Dirtbombs and The Come Ons), and they convinced me immediately. They started playing local clubs since 1997, and it seems they're finally getting the credit they deserve. I last went to their gig in de Melkweg, Amsterdam (December 4th, 2001). They once again proofed to be amazing live performers together with The 5,6,7,8's (japanese garagecats) and The Von Bondies (featuring talented Marcie Bolen, ex-Slumber Party). People who don't know the White Stripes yet, are really missing out on something. Of course we all know that being a part of the modern music industry (MTV especially), isn't something to be very proud of, but the idea of hearing the White Stripes and other great (Detroit) bands on daily radio, is quite a satisfying thought. That's why I created this page, just spread the word around. For we all love their refreshing back-to-basic's blues/rock'n'roll sound!
