as three or more different government offices!
The complexity of the legalization process depends on the country
in which each document must be used. About 50 countries have signed the Hague
Convention on Documents, which allows for an abbreviated legalization
process called an apostille. This is

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Why can't I process my Philippine documents myself?
A: Though it is possible to process your documents, either by yourself of via a representative, it would take so much time, effort and money. Processing you documents by directly going back to your home country certainly takes so much time and effort and the cost of airfare and accommodations. Processing documents through a trusted representative would often entail cost and delays considering that your representative is not as professional as the staff of OCWPI.
Q: Why can't I just have my relatives living in the Philippines do the process of the documents on my behalf?
A: Your relatives would incur the same high expenses because of the many money transfers and cross-verifications and confirmations of documents. This is more so, if your relatives are coming from remote provinces and may not be fully aware of the procedures of authentication and legalization of documents. Since they have their own jobs and matters to attend to, their effort in attending to your documentations needs may not be as professional zed as our staff from OCWPI can be. Any further clarifications and queries to update you of your documentations needs are easily attended to via e-mail, fax or telephone.
Q: Can the Philippine Embassy or Consulate not be able to help me with the processing of my documents?
A: Philippine embassies and Consulates provide legal and documentation services up to the extent allowed by their existing regulations. Since documentation processing, is by nature, a private transaction, the same shall not be fully attended to by Embassy or Consular personnel. Besides, such documents are normally and routinely handled via diplomatic courier service with its attendant scheduled time delays.
