Most Stonington High School band members take private lessons. If you are not one of those people, you should try to find an instructor. Hopefully, this page will help you.
If you would like to take private lessons, you can contact Thames Valley Music School; many band members find this convenient, because lessons take place at SHS during the school year. Students playing flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, etc. may take lessons. If you are interested, give them a call: (860)439-2749, or drop by: 270 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT. Or, you can ask Mr. Marsland for a form. If money is a problem, you can ask him or go pick up a form yourself in his office; don't worry--it's completely confidential!! Don't feel embarrassed to ask for a scholarship.
If you would like to take lessons from someone else, ask your friends, look in the yellow pages of the phone book, or do a search online. Hopefully you will be able to find something that works for you. We want to have the best band possible this year!!
