Welcome to the Stonington High School Bands!! You have made a wise decision to join the bands; you will not regret it!!
In the fall we participate in three parades and several home football games. The fall musical is in late November, and band members play in the pit orchestra. Our winter band concert is in early December. If you are planning on auditioning for the Eastern Region Festival, mark this date on your calendar: Saturday, December 4th. Our next concert is in early March, though we do not know the venue. Unfortunately, we will not be playing with the eight grade bands at that concert; however, we will come to them and do a tour, playing at both Mystic and Pawcatuck middle schools (dates unknown). We will have our spring trip in May, when we will drive down to Virginia Beach. The Music Awards Banquet is in late May; students receive participation awards and certain seniors receive special awards and scholarships. The Pops Concert--both Band and Chorus--is Saturday, June 4th, 2005. It is a long night, but it is a lot of fun, especially since we get to hear the choral students performing. The class of 2005 will graduate [as of now] June 24th; if it is not raining, the band will perform oustide on the football field.
