THE MUSIC BOOSTERS AT SHS ARE CURRENTLY UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE STONINGTONG EDUCATION FUND, SEF, to raise money for items not included in the budget. A Grand Piano for the new SHS auditorium dedication as well as a practice piano and other instruments, sound equipment for all performing arts, and new stage curtains are needed. The faculty is also working with well-known composers to commission a new piece of music for a combined chorus and band composition for the dedication of the new SHS Performing Arts Wing.

Trip years require a lot of Booster organization. Extra fundraisers are implemented to help students defer their individual costs. Chaperones are essential. Without enough chaperones, there is no trip. And we set up a phone tree to update parents on pick-up times or in case of emergency.
Mr. Marsland is looking into getting a commissioned piece of music that will enhance the SHS rededication ceremony. The students will have music that has been written for them and will be directly involved with the composer during this process. This will be an exciting educational experience.
The Music Boosters is working with the Stonington Education Fund (SEF) to raise money for items no provided in the budget for the school renovation project. The performing arts campaign will hopefully provide needed items such as a grand piano, upright pianos and recording studio equipment.
SENIORS are eligible for scholarships at the end of the year. Four students will each receive $400.00. Applications are only sent to students whose families are music booster members prior to February 1st of that school year. So, join now!
In May we have an awards banquet that is called Just Desserts (because that's all we serve--dessert!) It's usually held at St. Mary Church in the Borough and awards and scholarships are handed out. Every student receives something so we encourage everyone to attend. And the sweets are fabulous!
