Talking of gigs, don't forget we're playing The Social, Nottingham this Wednesday (19th April) with Cannonball Jane and The Chemistry Experiment. We're also playing Bunkers Hill, Nottingham on Saturday 29th April with the marvellous Dressy Bessy, MJ Hibbett and The Validators and Julian Donkey-Boy.

wednesday 8th March 2006

Hi All!
Just a quick note to let you know about our next two gigs. Firstly we'll be playing with Cannonball Jane at The Social, Nottingham on Wednesday 19th April 2006. Our drummer Dan, can't make this gig, so we're going for a slightly different sound, based around Ben C's rhythmic acoustic guitaring! Hopefully it'll all work out fine. We'll be playing a few older songs off the album at this gig too. I know its on a school nite, but you know you can make it! ;-)

Secondly we'll be playing with the U.S. guitar pop heroes that are known as Dressy Bessy. We saw them at Hannah's Bar, Liverpool a few years back and they put on a great show, plenty to dance to. This gig is upstairs at Bunkers Hill, Nottingham on Saturday 29th April 2006.

Hope to see you there

paul :)

wednesday 15th February 2006

Our gig on Saturday went pretty well, in fact Cabaret was full to capacity and left people queuing outside unable to get in during our set! Thanks to everyone who made it, we appreciate it.

Also thought i should thank the other bands too, who were really helpful & friendly. In particular Andy from The Strand Arcade, cheers again for the use of your bass amp. Thanks also to ????? the drummer from Komakino (sorry i forgot your name) but Dan appreciated you lending him parts of your drum kit.

I'm hoping to get some new photo's up on the site soon, its been ages since i last did it.

See you soon. Paul

wednesday 18th january 2006

***Just a quick note to let you know that our GIG in February has CHANGED DATE and VENUE.***

Now we'll be playing as part of the Drowned in Sound night, downstairs at CABARET (formerly Old Vic), Fletcher Gate, Nottingham on Saturday 11th February 2006. The gig is still supporting Komakino and we have been informed that The Pigeon Detectives will also be playing.

We aim to put on a good show and to that effect we have scheduled a few practice sessions that will be recommenced after Ben & Dan C return from holiday...its alright for some, eh?!

Should be a good nite, hope to see you there

Paul

saturday 10th december 2005

Just a brief update since our front cover appearance and interview in Nottingham's finest local Music Newspaper SANDMAN (thank you! Collect your copy from Select-a-disc, Fopp or Broadway, Nottingham or anywhere else cool enough to stock it!). Letting you know about our next gig, we're back at The Social (Pelham Street, Nottingham) where we've previously played with the marvellous OF MONTREAL, BOYRACER, LIBERTY SHIP among others.

This time we're one of a few support bands to KOMAKINO (will update you with the other bands nearer the time). The gig is on Sunday 05 February 2006, so that gives you plenty of time to ensure you're free on that date... mark it in your diary ;)

Hopefully we'll be bringing back a few favourites at the gig and adding a few new tunes.

Hope to see you there. Paul :)

tuesday 20th september 2005

Just a quick note about the gig on Friday, a couple of bands have pulled out but you'll still be able to trust our fine selves and the mighty BEATS CAPRI to put in a couple of great sets! Probably best to arrive at the venue around 9:00 pm-ish to ensure you get to hear both sets. Doors should be open from 7:15 pm though if you want to arrive earlier.

When you get to Cabaret (opposite Ha! Ha! Bar / Fletcher Gate Car Park) go in through the main door and immediately turn right and go down the stairs, this is where the gig venue is.

See you there
:)

sunday 18th september 2005

Hi again, we've just got back from another practice for our gig on Friday (23rd Sept- Downstairs@ Cabaret, Nottingham), still going well and the set list has been finalised. The main reason for adding news today is to include that review from Sandman Magazine, thank you.

"One of Nottingham’s best kept secrets... The Radiator Experts make the kind of indie pop that doesn’t exist in Nottingham any more since The Liberty Ship went their separate ways. Expect much tweeness and a lot of star jumps as this ace Bis meets Talulah Gosh lot play their sweet, sweet songs before a disinterested audience. If only it weren’t this way" - SANDMAN MAGAZINE

friday 16th september 2005

So, just one week left until the gig. Practices are going well. We have a few more scheduled as we're speedily trying to learn Ben's new songs. '85 Ways to Tie a Tie' and 'A Day With Girls (mite change your mind)' are a couple of the titles we're working on. The stand out track at the mo seems to be 'You Woke Up and Told Me You Hated Me', watch out for it.
Anyway enough from me. See you there! :)

wednesday 7th september 2005

Hi, its been a while but here's some news for you. The Radiator Experts have a gig coming up on Friday 23rd September 2005 Downstairs at Cabaret, Nottingham (formerly The Old Vic-opposite Ha! Ha! Bar). After receiving a rather favourable review (thankyou 'Sandman Magazine') we're hoping to see you all down there. Other bands playing are COMPUTERMAN, BEATS CAPRI and SANDBOX, which should make it a good evening. Tickets are £3.00 in advance or £4.00 on the door (thats well cheap, its like £1.00 per band!) and the doors are from 7:00pm.

For those who have seen us before the line up has now been extended to a five piece. We now have Dan Seymour on drums and Ben Seymour on lead guitar. Which leaves only myself (Paul) on Bass, Becky on Keyboards and vocal duties and last but not least Ben on Vocals and Guitar. Ben has been writing some new songs too so if you come down you'll get to hear their first live playing.

See you there :)

monday 20th september 2004

After the gig two weeks ago with the fantastic BOYRACER, not forgetting to mention LARDPONY & THE SONS we have another one coming up next Monday (27th) with Volcano! I'm Still Excited. Please note that the venue for this one has now changed to The Red Room at The Rescue Rooms, Nottingham. See you there!

PS on the website front, we have a couple of photo's from the Boyracer Gig to view from the Gigs page.

PPS i've just realised that the gig photo's for our previous gig with M J Hibbett & The Validators haven't been working. They are now! Photo's

friday 3rd september 2004

After a long silence, two gigs within the space of a month, first up with my heroes BOYRACER at the Social, Nottingham on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 7th. You can find more on their website but in a nutshell Boyracer make very noisy indie pop but also very melodic indie pop, much in the vein of Henry's Dress and the Aislers Set, guarenteed to put on a good show. Also playing that night are two bands from Derby, Lardpony and The Sons. The latter i know nothing of but i downloaded a few tracks and they sound well worth hearing. Secondly on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 27th we play with Mates of States label mates (quite awfully named) Volcano! I'm Still Excited, who from what i've heard off the website sound a little like mates of state and look like they put on a pretty good live show, so looking forward to seeing you at either or both shows. Finally, if you are interested you can check out my photography website at lomography, worth visiting just to see the COOL minimovies, sign the guestbook if you go and let us know what you think. ben x

PS Check out the new reviews for our album on the Press page.

monday 1st september 2003

Last month saw Radiator Experts play two gigs, one at Rescue Rooms in support to Mates of State and Origami on 2nd August 2003 and also a limited invite only gig at the Summer Strummer 2003 on 9th August 2003 along with other local bands Plim, Touchstone and Any Given Sunday among others.

The photos from the gigs will hopefully will uploaded to the site sometime this month, however, if you click on the following link Summer Strummer Website you can access the photos from the Summer Strummer gig now.

monday 28th july 2003

After entering the National Air Guitar Championships last night with the boy Butler (James, not Bernard) its time to get the dusty guitar out of its case for a show this weekend (Saturday 2nd August) with the really quite amazing Mates of State and Origami. If you've never heard anything by Mates of State they are kind of like Quasi i.e. just keyboard and drums, but in my mind the real focus of attention has to be their amazing vocal harmonies which are absolutely breathtaking, anyway they're good and even if you hate us you should come to see them. as for Origami i've only heard Nancy Drew from a recent 555 compilation which is a super cool surf punk instrumental, not sure what to expect otherwise. I believe doors will be at 7.15 and we'll be on at about 7.45 or 8.00 ish, check www.rescuerooms.com for more info. oh yeah its at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham, tickets £4 in advance or £5 on the door.

Other Rad Ex News

The track tentatively named Clattering Machinery will be appearing on a free CD with the next issue of Butterfly Crush fanzine, more on how you can get hold of that nearer the time. Also an interview with the Radiator Experts will be appearing in the next issue of Vanity Project fanzine, again more details when its available. And finally the Photo gallery has had a major update, so check that out (View the all new Photo Gallery!),

see you Saturday.

wednesday 11th june 2003

good news! we've secured a support slot to 'Mates of State' at the Rescue Rooms, Nottingham on saturday 2nd august 2003. we're the first of three bands playing that nite so come along early and see us!

wednesday 4th june 2003

with Ben having left on saturday for two weeks travelling in italy you'd expect there to be not too much happening in the rad_ex camp, however, i'm pleased to tell you that that is not the case. Sneakily before departing Ben had sent off a demo cd of 'The Doctor Lied' to Indigo on Channel 4 Teletext and it was reviewed favourably yesterday on page 167. (Click Here to read this review- and more!)

saturday 5th april 2003

the radiator experts are pleased to announce an upcoming support slot with scottish superheroes bis (you know they were the first unsigned band ever to appear on top of the pops! with their kandy pop single, and they sing the song at the end of the powerpuff girls which alone is enough to make them legends) and motormark who i don't really know too much about other than that they are scottish and wear kilts (which is essentially what scottish people do so i don't imagine that helped you out too much at all). its on april 24th at the recently opened super venue the RESCUE ROOMS (tis near ROCK CITY) and starts at 8.30, we're on first so don't be late :) it'll set you back seven english pounds in advance probably more on the door.(View the Gig List!)

we've had to call on ben "red eye" seymour again as our regular bass player is working away, in preston if you only come to see us cos you fancy paul. so expect much instrument swapping and general ramshackleness, which can only be a good thing. also there will be available a re-release of last years dressed in yellow ep with a lovely standard 1960's style front cover as opposed to the personalised ones that featured on the originals. the tracks are as follows: 1) the doctor lied 2) californ-i-a 3) 1-2-b- yr friend 4) not even jamie... 5) cut your hair. it'll set you back two shiny one pound coins (you can even "try before you buy!" (Listen to samples of each track!)). also on the merchandise table will be more free badges (wahey!!!) and maybe some super special (currently secret) one off rad ex merchandise (tho more on that later.)

expect two brand new rock-tastic songs to be premiered as well. look out for the jules verne/ columbo inspired wig out "journey to the centre of the earth" and the temporarily titled "alzeheimers" tho we will come up with a better name soon. lookin forward to seeing you there.

OTHER GENERAL RAD EX NEWS

ben has a new camera, its shiny and it has NINE lenses (for instant pop art!! its as cool as it sounds, believe me), so be sure to come and have your picture taken. ben seymours car is playing up so please buy him a new one if you have any spare cash. paul is working away far too often so if you are his boss go easy on him.
