History of PysiediuS:

PysiediuS is a heavy metal amalgam of the musicianship of Leo Diensthuber, Mike Giannandrea, Alex Coon, and Allan Hellyer, all from Brockville, Ontario. They began in the fall of 2001, starting out with a relatively mellow sound. This mellow sound would soon progress deep into the forays of heavy metal, becoming tighter, edgier, and more devastating than any band around. Here is a brief history of PysiediuS.

The first singer was kicked out shortly after founding the band. His replacement would be a close friend, under the moniker “Ben V”. During the tenure of Ben V, the band was known as Last Man Standing. LMS played a handful of shows in late 2001 early 2002. The biggest of these shows was a victory in the band’s first ever participation in a Battle of the Bands. After the victory, a CD was called for. Upon completion of the instrumental tracks (recorded over a span of a few days in Mike’s basement), the band realized that Ben's singing was, to put it lightly, a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Needless to say, Ben V’s career singing in a rock band was over. For now anyway. . .

For almost a year following the departure of Ben V, the band continued on as an instrumental act, while searching for the right voice to complete their desired sound. In Late 2002, a singer joined and left almost immediately. Soon after, a local female singer joined the band. A few shows were played with her, and a short demo was recorded. While this singer was by far a much more talented singer than all previous singers in the band had been, the band felt that her voice did not fit the mould.

It turned out that the vocals needed to complete PysiediuS were with the band all along. PysiediuS has finally settled on its four person line up, with all members but Allan having vocal duties. Coupled with completing grade eleven, the band members have found singing themselves to much easier, and much more satisfying. PysiediuS still writes, practices, and plays shows regularly. A full length CD, with vocals by Mike, Leo, and Alex, is scheduled to be recorded over the upcoming holiday break.
