This is a Caribbean fantasy that features both a cornet solo and a cornet duet, over a gently undulating background.
Unison horns take the lead during the middle sixteen bars, aided by robust harmonies from the trombone section.

La Meseta
La Meseta, 'The High Plateau', has a distinct Spanish feel evocative of the changing moods – and temperatures – of Spain's chief geographical feature.
Cornets, both unison and in harmony, take the honours during the first sixteen bars, followed by a broad euphonium unison.
Much attention has been paid to light and shade in the orchestration, with sonorous ensembles contrasting with the more thinly scored slow tempo portion of the piece.

Hymn to the ‘Seventies
"Hymn to the 'Seventies" is an affectionate look back to the 'Seventies era. The quasi classical melody has an immediate appeal.
Interwoven parts build to a 'plateau' before giving way to a brief, reflective passage in a minor mode.
Arresting fanfare piece for cornets and a 'statuesque' soprano cornet solo lead to a 'big' finish, with soprano sitting on top of the ensemble.
The trombone section, too, adds usefully to the entire effect.

Advent of the Knights-Errant
A dynamic new composition in three movements for band. Moderately difficult.
Effective heraldic motifs from the horns announce the first movement. The second movement features a horn duet leading into a brief cornet solo.
The third movement evolves into a free form fuguetta employing the 'twelve tone' (serial) technique.
Dissonant brass chords employ divisi parts for all eight cornets/soprano cornet.
A full band is definitely required.
